I have not had a chocolate old fashioned ice cream soda for over 50 yrs. They didn't even make them when I worked at a Bridgeman's in MN when I was in high school. B & G Milkyway, the original, in Sioux Falls made a great small one for me. It was a very hot day & it hit the spot. I sat outside & ate it. The windy day didn't even bother me. They didn't use old fashioned ice cream (only soft serve), but it still tasted like I remember them. Fast service...
The ice cream itself is good but they were super cheap with the toppings. Ordered an avalanche and I think they put one fun size candy bar in it. It's fun to try local places, but this one is for people who think DQ puts too much stuff in their ice cream.
I love Milky Way. They have really great malts and shakes, as well as sundaes. They're closed over the winter, but that's ok. When they open for the season you know nice weather is on the way!
