So, this is an actually very roomy restaurant in a little town in SD. Burbank, yep, Burbank, SD. Bikers love this place! That tells you something! Is there a kinder, sweeter, food-off-the-charts place in this Vermillion/Burbank area? NOPE!! Caleb the chef knows his menu, and he cooks me the same thing every time I go in because it's that good! Their BBQ ribs were probably made in Heaven and then God sent down the delivery. Fall off the bone tender! Owners and staff are friendly...
It's more about comfort and a good value than atmosphere. Great people and comfortable, not fancy at all.. This is a place where, when you walk in, people look up from the pool table to see if they know you. (Kudos on the new restrooms!) Whimps is where I go when my iron is low. Who else has liver and onions on the menu? Liver and extra onions. And ketchup. This is also the first place I had walleye when we moved to the frozen North. This is still the best home style made...
We had a delightful lunch at Whimps Place! The food was very good, homestyle with generous servings. Prices were reasonable and the service was great! We'll be returning soon with friends!
