This is the first restaurant review I’ve written and while I feel terrible about I also know I will not be back to this restaurant or recommend it at this time. I went here many times in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and fell in love with everything about it. Last week I took someone there raving about the location, service and food in spite of not being there for a long time. I was so disappointed. The building is beautiful and the first thing you smell is dirty fryer grease. Gone is the smell of tantalizing food. We were third in line in spite of many empty tables and we waited almost 10 minutes for someone even to acknowledge so many people waiting let alone to get seated. Once seated we again waited to be approached by a waitress however once she came over she was very personable and helpful. The first couple ahead of us received their food, there was hope. The second table finally received their food and yet we waited. I am not exaggerating when I say an hour went by from the moment we walked in and we had no food and no further visits from our waitress. As we sat there another line of people waiting to be seated formed. Not one single person that works there acknowledged them. Not with a hello, be with you in a moment, nothing. Even they were getting frustrated. Ladies came to the waiting podium to drop off fresh wrapped silverware and yet never said a word to the people. The girl that was in charge of seating people was not at all personable or friendly. At any time. I’m sorry to say but we never saw our waitress again and finally just got up and left. We never did get our food. This restaurant could use some good management with everything. It was a very disappointing experience and sadly no one available to talk to or even ask to cancel the order. I would not recommend it.

We held our 60th class reunion at Latchstring Restaurant. All I did was make the reservation with Kayla and she and Rachel, the event director, did it all! They reserved a beautiful private room for us in this gorgeous facility. The table settings were classy and comfortable. The acoustics were the best of any facility we’ve used! They suggested a buffet and a menu. Absolutely perfect! And the food and presentation - absolutely amazing!! We were all so very impressed!! Oh, and the carrot cake for the finale was the best ever. A good value as well. I would be proud to recommend Latchstring to anyone and everyone. What a fantastic evening to top off our event. Thank you to Kayla, Rachel and all the staff. ❤️

Stopped for a to-go coffee after trail riding all day. $4.50 for burnt piping hot coffee in a paper cup with no insulator. Congratulations you saved 5 cents and earned this review!

We checked out from the hotel and going by one of the flags outside insinuating that we could get breakfast, so we headed over. Also, it was an assumption that since the hotel offers no complimentary breakfast, the restaurant should serve it all day. Wrong! It's such a dumb policy to cut breakfast off at a certain time, especially the same time as check out time at the hotel across the street. You have the ingredients, you're just don't want to use them when requested.
The water tasted gross and service was sub-par.
The kid menu was beaten up and weathered.
We came the night before for dinner as well and couldn't even get a wait time estimate because the staff appeared to be lethargic/slow moving and the place was obviously understaffed.
We found it quite strange that the dome outside wanted $10 a person just to sit in what had appeared to be a relic from the Covid Age.
The outside dining area was filthy with food smeared on the concrete floors.

Based on all the other reviews, we clearly had a bad experience. We will not come back. If you follow me, you know it is rare for me to give a bad review.

Unexpected find along the Spearfish Canyon Hwy in Savoy. Bison stew was excellent and corn cakes take cornbread to a new level.
Our server, Hanna rocks !

Nice atmosphere, but the food and service were not great. My husband had a Caesar salad with shrimp (dressing did not taste like traditional Caesar and shrimp lacked flavor) and I had a garden salad with beef tenderloin (which was tough and hard to chew). Service was slow for the number of people in the restaurant.
