My family visited the Pizza Lab last week while on vacation in the Black Hills. We were pleasantly surprised by the space, pricing, and food. The place looks small on the outside, but pretty spacious on the inside. The pizza was tasty. We ordered both hand tossed and thin crust. The pricing was very family friendly. My kids also enjoyed playing the arcade games. We also picked up ice cream on the way out.

Old man with glasses was a jerk. 40 minutes until close and he wouldn’t serve us. At first he claimed no more dine-in. Fine. He walked away, and when he finally came back to the register, that changed to no more anything. Enjoy the one star review.

Wow! I can’t believe the type of service we received. We’re visiting from out of town and we were excited to try this place. Once we arrived we were told by staff that it’s open seating, so we found an open table and cleaned-up/bussed our own table. Once we sat down we waited for about 20 minutes before anyone came up to our table to take our order. Finally we had someone come up and tell us they didn’t have time to serve us as they closed nearly an hour later and they had too many people waiting for Pizzas. They offered to place an order to-go for us but said we couldn’t sit and wait for our pizza. Oddly enough as we took our children and walked out of the restaurant we noticed no one else was waiting for their pizza. I stopped at the restroom on my way out and as soon as I came out, our table was already filled with new guests. The worst part of it all is our children questioning why we had to leave. They didn’t understand! How do we explain racism in today’s society? We’re not welcome to order pizza and enjoy time with our family, but everyone else is? Come on Deadwood…do better!!!

The pizzas were amazing, everyone thought their flavor was the best. The owner was fantastic and very accommodating, even making time to fix an arcade machine and stay open when we showed up late.

We always love our visits to pizza lab! Owners, please be open on Monday's in summer! Especially on holidays like Memorial Day - lots of people (like us) are visiting and would love some pizza lab.

Don’t stop in Deadwood for lunch - drive 2.5 miles to Pizza Lab in Central City. We had a terrific supreme pizza and a great chat with the owner. Lots of combinations to choose from. We would have also tried their ice cream if we hadn’t filled up with pizza. Also - if you are traveling in an RV, park on the street above Pizza Lab (Central Main Street). Easy access and egress.
