This is NOT a 💯 % recommendation for The Wooden Nickel. We first visited this establishment just over two years ago. We frequented it almost weekly for the better part of 1.5 years. It was good…the food is good & at the time the service was good. However lately…in 2024 it has been sub par. This year during Crooks days we stopped in…it took 15 minutes FOR ANYONE to walk up to our table and even hand us menus…and when she did she was on the phone talking to someone....read full review

The Wooden Nickel used to be great. It isn't anymore. We waited over an hour for our food. It didn't come out. I finally went to pay my tab and the server was so rude when I told her I wasn't going to pay for the food because I didn't get it. I also know of others who left because they didn't get their food. I'm saddened that the service isn't good. I hope they can get this turned around so we can keep this business going in our town.

Wooden Nickel is a friendly small-town bar with a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its fabulous food and friendly staff who are attentive and helpful. The chislic special is a popular choice, offering a generous portion at a good value. This is the best small town bar in the Midwest. The beer is the coldest in town. The meat is very flavorful and super tender. The fries are amazing as well. The price was very normal. This place is kid friendly.
