My favorite place in De Smet. I love their coffee and the service is always great. The store has cute little things they sell- and I can never walk out empty handed. My kids love it as well because of their adorable toy section.

This place is phenomenal! It provided a perfect meeting spot between Brookings and Huron to catch up with a friend over coffee and a light meal/snack. They even have GF options!
There's also a wonderful selection of books and gifts to browse while you're there.
Congratulations on the success of your business and thank you for a delightful experience.

Great place to grab a quick bite and some ice cream while waiting for the next Laura Ingalls Wilder tour to begin. My husband enjoyed his coffee as well. Lots of nick-nacks to look at as well.

We had a great experience at De Smet Mercantile & Coffeehouse! The first time we went, we went inside. The mercantile portion of the store had a great selection of books and toys, for ages ranging from baby to toddler to older children. Some really cute and clever toys that are worth their price! There was quite a line for ordering, but the staff confidently, courteously, and quickly addressed every customer and order. There were several options for milk alternatives, for which I was so thankful, as well as impressed! In a second visit, my husband went in on his own, not having my order, and the owner came to his rescue and looked up my order from the previous day and made it exactly right! On our third visit, we went through the drive through. Same fast, courteous service. Highly recommend De Smet Mercantile & Coffeehouse!
Dietary restrictions: Milk alternatives: coconut, oat, almond, and soy
Parking: Parking along the main street, park right in front of the store. I say plenty of parking because we never encountered a parking lack, but there are not a huge number of parking spaces out front, at least not directly in front of the store. I imagine if there was an extremely busy time, parking would be difficult to come by. But you could park along any street in downtown and easily walk to the coffeehouse.
Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly! Some good "kid" food options, ice cream, toys and books galore to explore!
