Don’t stop here if you don’t have to. The food is overpriced and the portions are very small.
It was great, quick service. Friendly
Small town diner, great service, ok food. Works when you're hungry.
Everything about this place was amazing, especially the food.

Disappointment isn’t a strong enough word. Unfriendly, school lunch gross food, and falling apart atmosphere. Disgusting experience. I couldn’t even touch the ketchup bottle it was so gross looking, I used a napkin to squeeze the ketchup out. Fish sandwich was a cheep bun and frozen fish probably zapped in the microwave. Nothing on the bun, no lettuce, no mayo, made it so dry it wasn’t eatable. The french dip was the same way, dry to the point of choking it down even with Ajou. The french fries were even bad, tasteless. The mashed potatoes are out of a box. Even the cookies are made from a box, not homemade. The booths had huge cracks and tears, pealing paint on walls and just plain dirty feeling all around you. It was a waste of $35 and we’d never eat there again. It’s sad because I heard it used to be an incredible place, sought out by travelers and locals alike.

This was a very good place to eat a cute little small town it takes a second to get waited but overall pretty good food and service took awhile and there's 1 cook and 1 waiter, waiter was really shy but she got our food pretty good but beware portions are quite small so probably get a side but good for the price!

My husband and I spent our summer vacation traveling from our home in California to De Smet, South Dakota because we wanted to see the Little Town on The Prairie where Laura Ingalls and her family lived.
We pulled in to town looking for a place to eat and went inside the Oxbow Restaurant.
We were not greeted by anyone. Not the cook that was standing there staring at us, not the woman standing next to him and not the waitress take an order People came inside and found there way to their seats. We had no idea if we had to wait to be seated or find a seat.
We became frustrated and left.
Not a good first impression to out of towners.

We were there Friday, May 24th. The place was busy and it appeared there was only 1 waitress who also appeared to be very new on the job. We were a party of 3, one never got her food and none of us got our drinks. There was a booth next to us who ended up leaving because they didn't get waited on. It was obvious the waitress wasn't able to handle the crowd. Too bad.

I guess i was just disappointed in the service and the food.
