Ordered the special, brosted Pork Chop. (It was not a Pork Chop, it was Pork Loin) Dry, tough…overcooked. Explained it to the server, at the cash register, I was informed that nobody else thought this. Never did get asked if everything was okay, after we received lunch.
I had heard good things, I didn’t not enjoy. The place is noisy, difficult to talk among the table, with family.

this place situated at the crossroads of Yankton, Menno, and Freeman SD is a true gem. you wouldn't expect to find a place like this just out in the middle of nowhere. but there they are. everything is impressive. the food is tasty and well prepared with generous portions. the beer list is good. the service is spectacular! highly recommend the big Norwegian burger, the homemade chili and the corn nuggets. 9.5/10 just excellent.

We stopped in 5/21/25 after a funeral and there were over 25 of us. Was a spontaneous stop by the entire family late afternoon around 4:00. April was only server I seen and would guess a cook in the back and she (they) knocked it out of the park!! Food was great like always and can't beat the chislic! Hope to be back soon!!

Fantastic experience here! The Cole's 3am with waffle fries and coffee was amazing! The server, Ashli I believe, did a great job and was incredibly helpful.

The food is great. But the service here is terrible. We were there for 2 hours before we got our food, and when we asked if our food was coming they told us yes and then came back with other peoples food 30 minutes later and didn't bring our food. We have been here many times before and had the same issues.

I'm a sucker for a good dive bar, and this place fits the bill. The food is other worldly...do not pass up the chislic! If you don't know, it's the official gnosh of South Dakota, and rumor has it that this is where it all started...allegedly. You're in SD, the service in a rural community is going to be A+ and Meridian Corner does not disappoint! Thanks for a great afternoon snack!

Worth a stop. Not great food but good food. At 1 PM it had about 3 parties eating. But it is in the middle of nowhere. We were drawn to the Chislic, a local item from South Dakota and we had to try it. Brought to the area in 1870 or so from Central Europe. Offered as mutton or lamb. It was not our main meal but we bought 6 skewers and shared them. Maybe we missed something but we did not taste anything but the meat. Thought we'd taste some marinade. Lunch was also sandwiches. So stop and try it yourself. If not here then in the town of Freeman SD.
Parking: Dirt lot or on the highway shoulder.

VERY disappointed. Frequent customer. Arrived at end of prime time Friday night. Placed order with very nice waitress. Had a drink while waiting for food. Food arrived. Pale broasted chicken. Attempted to eat a wing and breast. Rubbery fatty and bloody. Showed waitress who apologized and took back to cook after saying we wouldn’t be charged for it. Waitress came back saying cook apologized and she was very sorry. Waitress and cook great. Went to pay the bill. Charged for the chicken. Told manager refused to remove from bill. ???? Can buy raw chicken at the grocery store. Waitress great. Cook honest. Management??????!! Take your chances
