ok this is by far the best ice cream I've ever tasted. the caramel brownie is to die for and reasonably priced. I tasted this at Yankton Riverboat Days it was worth forgoing my low-carb diet for this ice cream.

A small, nondescript Hispanic grocery and restaurant in a small South Dakota town of 1300 where one would never expect to find such food. As a retired Naval Officer who's literally travelled the world in 27 years, including Spain, Mexico, and central/south America, I was presently surprised by Tienda CentroAmerica.

During the Spring/Summer their hours are abbreviated. They open from 4:00-9:30 pm. They have a reasonably stocked grocery and offer delicious fresh-baked pastries. The dinner menu is limited in terms of what most Americans have come to expect in restaurants that cater to American appetites and having a smorgasbord of choices, but the basics are amply represented.

The wait/service staff too is small, but high quality in terms of customer attention and responsiveness to customer requests. The prices were incredibly reasonable and very competitive with prices in the average Mexican restaurant. What set this restaurant apart was the portion sizes, which were ample, and the quality of the food.

I had the steak fajitas and my wife had the nachos supreme. The presentations for both were obviously hand-crafted with attentiveness. The steak in my fajitas was obviously top quality and extremely well prepared. Delicious. The bell peppers and onions were cooked perfectly; not limp but not raw. The seasonings were just right. The dish came with three corn tortillas which were more than enough. The saffron in the rice was fresh and was as good as any rice I've had in Spain. I was very full afterward and more than satisfied.

If you're ever near Freeman, South Dakota I would highly recommend this otherwise unnoticed little gem of a restaurant as a place to make your stop for dinner worthwhile.

Love the food here. Chicken enchiladas like really amazing. Small family owned bisness and I'm a parent so I totally get it and feel horrible to have to say it but I feel like it could be constructive and id really like for this bisness to be successful so I'm truly just wanting to help when I say ... the screaming young boy is hurting bisness. The food is so good that I personally am willing to over look it but I don't think alot of people are and in such a small town your gunna need every customer available to be successful. It happens almost every time we come unfortunately. I have to literally bribe my bf anytime we come cuz he hates coming here, literally cringes when i mention it because of the screaming kid. It really is overwhelming at times.

Wife and I were in Freeman for a club event and we stayed at the hotel next to this place every chance we got. Friendly staff and the food was great. Reason this place is not getting a 5 star rating is cause the owners brought their son here. We came back for lunch with some friends and the child constantly screamed at us to the point where we almost left the place completely. The mother and father remained professional and apologized for the temper tantrum the child was throwing. The place has good food and if you want some good Mexican food in a small town this is the place
