Excellent food and a great atmosphere
Food and live music were excellent but the wait was crazy!
They had to roll me out of there like Violet Beauregarde! Amazing food! Great atmosphere! The guy who owns this place should expand his business and make this a chain restaraunt!
Wonderful experience. Our server took our orders in a timely manner. She was friendly and kind. Our group of six staggered in at different times and she patiently repeated the special for the night. I had the BSSB. You must try! Bacon, shrimp, sausage and roasted Brussels sprouts. Chock full of shrimp and delicious!
First visit and I know we will return. Two of us had the daily special which was crab stuffed ravioli topped with a light sauce, spinach, breaded fried scallops and shrimp. The third person had two kinds of sausage on top of a type of chili with light cheese bread. She said the blueberry sausage was to die for. Also had Key Lime pie and triple chocolateCake.
Went in without a reservation on a Friday night and they were able to squeeze us in. They had live music and the atmosphere was awesome. They staff was all very friendly and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
This is not a bad rating. I was not able to eat here because they are closed for the couple days that I am in the area, which is disappointing. My wife & I made plans to eat here on Wednesday evening since we knew from the web site that O So Good was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We were surprised to find a note on the door explaining that they were only doing pre ordered take out of one dish on Wed and Thurs (and we were past the ordering window). It would have been nice to have this information on the web site. Sadly we are from Colorado and won't be able to return to try out this great sounding restaurant.
It was our first time dining here. Visiting family in the area and they love it here. Great atmosphere, clean, and the entertainer was really fun. Staff was very friendly. We had the amazing fried bread appetizer. I had the Mac & Cheese bake and hubby had the spaghetti. We would recommend and come again. Thanks for a good time.
My family and I went with some out of town guests, looking of course to impress them. It happened that the restuarant was closed. My dad explained our situation and the owner, who is the nicest and most amazing human being, cooked the most amazing dinner for our entire party!! We chose the Chef's Challenge (list a few things you like, a few things you don't and the level of spice and let the chef create a unique dish for you) and were in awe of the chef's talent and technique! Everything was absolutely delicious! For dessert we shared the gooey butter cake and pineapple cheesecake. Wow, all homemade and super yummy!! Our guests were very impressed and the experience was wonderful and memorable!! We all can't wait to go back to support this superior local business!!
Food was exactly what the name of the restaurant is, "O SO GOOD"! Place was full, required reservation makes a lot of sense. Id you live outside of Garretson, SD, it is worth the drive and worth the wait. This will be an unregretable trip. Food is full of flavor and menu not complicated. Staff is very friendly, courteous, attentive and respectful. Open kitchen, so you get to watch the owner, Omar Thornton, cook the delicious food. The Live Music is an unmatched entertainment. Highly recommend visiting this Gem!

WONDERFULL food with a laid back atmosphere. Prices are more than reasonable. Service was very good. I would recommend calling for a reservation. Live entertainment on Friday evenings.
Not impressed. My fiance decided to take me out on my only day off as he found this place and really wanted to try something new. We arrived at 6, it is now 7:50 and we only just now received our food and they close in half an hour. We were seated right away which was great, but then no one came by for our drink or food order. We got someone after 30 minutes to take our drink order which came in 15 minutes. The place was full-ish which is understandable for a Thursday night but I don't think I've ever waited 45 minutes to receive two beers and an additional 45 minutesto receive my food and my fiance's food. We got only my appetizer the last 45 minutes we've been sat here, since we got drinks As I stated above we just got our food and I'm not impressed with the lack of service. We will not be back. Hoping they do better in the future but will not be returning.
My family is a big fan of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so when my husband knew that we'd be in SD, he made sure we were going to O So Good! We were not disappointed! The food was amazing! The service was excellent! And the atmosphere was quirky, yet down home and comfortable! I would recommend trying this place out! And if I'm ever in Garretson, SD I will definitely be visiting O So Good again!
More like O So-So. We had a reservation for 6 and they pushed two round tables together for us, right in front of the guy singing. Meanwhile, 3 of the singer’s friends got a nice 6-top. The blackened walleye and hamburger were bland as could be. We expected the red potato fries to be crispy, but they were soft and had very little flavor. My water never got refilled (I had wine and coffee too so I wasn’t being cheap). The chocolate cake was good, but not worth a return trip.
The food was amazing! Love the small town atmosphere. Definitely will return. I recommend!
