Great little restaurant that has amazing vibes. The food was excellently crafted and well thought out. Loved the Buffalo chimichurri. It’s very intimate with a small set of staff so it’s a great moment to take it slow and converse with your party. I love how they use seasonal items and food that is in abundance in the area. Great service and had an amazing time. Great place to stop while visiting. Love from Washington DC

Food is amazing, but it does take a while to cook, as good food should. So, I would highly recommend getting an appetizer. We ended up getting the beets with goat cheese, and even though I don't like beets, these were delicious. Then, for the main, I got the steak with chimichurri, and my wife got the cod. Both were so good that we had to stop ourselves from licking the plates.

The food was absolutely delicious! My husband got the steak and I got the cod. Both were slow cooked to perfection. We were warned that there would be a wait due to how it is cooked. We did get the beets and goat cheese for an appetizer. It was amazing and even my husband liked it (and he doesn't like beets)! It did help tide us over until we got the main course.

Buffalo Dreamer is back! New location in a brand new and beautiful space, and back to having a regular menu. The watermelon & jalapeno salad is amazing, as was the tart cherry cashew crème dessert. My husband and I both had steak (yum!), but all of the entrée options were tempting! Wine also available. Currently only open Thursday/Saturday/Sunday evenings. They will take walk-ins, but hedge your bet and make a reservation. Outdoor seating also available. (Note: Yes, this location IS also the wonderful Olifant’s Tea & Coffee House during the day – Buffalo Dreamer takes over the space for dinner.)

If you want the best food experience in the Black Hills, go to Buffalo Dreamer. Just do it, it’s awesome, you won’t regret it. It has the greatest food and the coolest humans. It’s well worth the drive from Rapid City.
Dietary restrictions: As a gluten free human, I trust Chef Rebecca with all things dietary restrictions.

I took my best friend to Buffalo Dreamer last Sunday evening to celebrate her birthday. Both of us have dined at Buffalo Dreamer previously. This months dinner is titled Georgia O'Keeffe on the Prairie. Each month Chef Rebecca Christiansen prepares a fixed menu with 6 courses. After living in and near Santa Fe for 10 years I was particularly interested in this menu. To say each course was exceptional is not strong enough. The flavors, layers of flavor with each bite is completely exquisite! I cannot recommend the whole experience enough. The Space where Buffalo Dreamer serves is quite in line with the artistry of Buffalo Dreamer. The music in the background was very smooth and enjoyable. Our server was incredibly knowledgable, friendly, attentive. If you are searching for an intimate, relaxing, exceptional experience with a well thought out menu you will not forget soon Buffalo Dreamer is the place to go. Reservations are very limited which in fact makes it very special as well, there is limited seating which keeps the evening special. My hat off to Chef Rebecca Christiansen!
Quite simply amazing. This is a whole evening experience and as it was my husband’s birthday that is what we went for. Honest, really well put together food - great flavours. Great service. Nice selection of wines. Would definitely go back.

Truly, Michelin star worthy. Absolutely outstanding flavors in every delicious bite of each of the 4 courses along with everything from beginning to end! More than any Foodie could ask for in the finest culinary cities and not to be missed when near Hot Springs, SD!
It was a good meal with excellent service. However, the wait time was too long between courses. With the limited staff I see that was how it had to be. I wonder if the chef makes a profit at all and if this restaurant can make it into the future.
