We showed up just as they were closing up and the owners graciously welcomed us and asked what they could get for us. We ordered the smoked chicken tika masala and the eggplant masala. While we waited we chatted with the musicians that had been playing there. Delightful folks! Next thing I know, the pager is going off and we have an enormous bag of delicious food to go. The portions are super generous and the flavors are fantastic. The naan was soft and warm, the raita was perfumed with cumin and both were so good with the curries and rice. We also found a bonus box of smoked lamb curry in our bag!!

This food could have come from any big city with a large, diverse ethnic mix of folks and would be superb. The fact that you can savor it in beautiful Hot Springs, SD is incredible. If you’re there during regular hours, their outdoor seating area is comfortable and welcoming.

We had the smoked chicken masala and it was amazing! The dinner came with garlic naan, rice and a delish yogurt sauce. The owner(s)/cooks were so friendly. I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this more often.

I had the honor of trying this place while I was in town doing a program at the Manmoth Site, and I’m so glad I did. I had the lamb and chicken masala with an extra order of honey naan, and I am still dreaming about it weeks later, wishing I lived close to have it again. I didn’t get to sit outside as it was raining, but it looked magical and welcoming. Must try while in Hot Springs!

This was amazing - great food (we tried three different proteins all on naan), great service, and an atmosphere way better than we had hoped for. It is an outdoor bazaar style restaurant where you would least expect it. The owner came out to chat when it wasn’t busy. This was the best hummus I have ever had - more flavor and texture than any others.

Delicious, cannot recommend highly enough. Who would have thought that I'd have the best Pakistani food of my life in Hot Springs, South Dakota? The cabbage masala & naan is especially delicious. Must-stop destination in Hot Springs.

The food and drinks were delicious! The meals came with naan and raita but they will make it vegan by subbing hummus. And the hummus is homemade and goes really well with the naan and dish.

I was looking for a healthy food option in Hot springs South Dakota, the silk road experience was the first restaurant that popped up and let me tell you I wasn't disappointed in the offerings. I ordered the lamb rice bowl and all of the ingredients were super fresh the lamb was probably the most tender lamb I have ever eaten in my life. The rice was steamed and seasoned to perfection and could have been served all on its own. All of the vegetables were super fresh the feta cheese was delicious an overall would give the male five stars which I did. The owner Farooq came out when I was almost finished with my mail and gave me a lovely mango dessert sample and it was fresh and amazing. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who really likes to enjoy other cultures through their food. 10 out of 10 would recommend and I will be back anytime I get close to Hot springs.

I had for the fortune after many years of following online from afar to visit Silk Road. What an experience! Mary and her husband are delightful, cooking with passion and heart. We enjoyed a lamb paratha roll in addition to a mango lassi. Bright, clean-tasting, and delicious. What I liked most was the atmosphere. We enjoyed visiting with other local business owners (check out Highland Meadows Resort for future stays!) and witnessed a camaraderie of support and success. When Silk Road discovered they were out of whole milk, a couple that lives/works in Hot Springs made the effort to pick up more and bring it back so they could continue to cook! The atmosphere was so welcoming and offered reprieve from the hot sun. We enjoyed our meal under shade sails and amongst potted flowers. The wait was worth it. It will be a required visit for all future stays in the Hills!
