Tasty whiskey and food, cozy atmosphere, and friendly hosts all on the eastern doorstep of the badlands. Be sure to make this stop during your road trip!
I am a little disappointed with the overall experience. The bourbon is very good. However, when I got a flight sample of four, the portions were too small to actually taste what was being offered- slightly more than a tablespoon each. And that was $9! The Chicken tenders I ordered had very little chicken under a vast amount of breading. The old fashioned cocktail I ordered was shockingly small, perhaps 3 and 1/2 oz. All in all, it was too little value for the amount of money we spent.
Last year, we stopped by the Badlands Distillery on our way home. We bought a bottle of whiskey. It was great. This year we visited South Dakota again and HAD to stop at the Distillery. This year we bought rye, honey flavored whiskey, jalapeño flavored whiskey and apple crunch flavored whiskey. They are all fantastic. I only wish they could ship out of state. Wonderful owners. Fun atmosphere. Great whiskey (and I’m not normally a whiskey or rye drinker). Clearly, my favorite distillery. Thank you!

Very friendly owner. Fun to chat with. The whiskeys we tried are some of the best we have had. We had the Pork Riblets, ate them before I took a picture and they we amazing. Some parts of the country call them burnt ends, but these were better than that. All ingredients locally grow.
Purchased two bottles. Very smooth and very tasty.
Last year, we stopped by Badlands Distillery for kicks. We are from Indiana. I am not normally a whiskey or rye drinker. However, I bought a bottle of whiskey and gave one to a doctor friend. We both really like it. I was frustrated they do not ship outside SD, so ….. this year we visited Yellowstone and the Tetons. I made sure we visited on our way home. In fact, we called to be sure they would be open. Surprisingly and happily, the owner actually returned my call. This year, I bought a bottle of rye for a lifetime buddy plus 3 bottles of the flavored (honey, jalapeño and spice) whiskey to sip and savor with friends. It will be fun! For a minimal drinker, this is a testimony to how much I like the whiskey varieties and the owners. Great people! I encourage you to visit Badlands Distillery. It’s great!

Great whiskey! Bought our 6 boys bottles for Christmas!! Highly recommend stopping and checking it out!!
Hidden gem just off Exit 150 of I-90! Yes that exit is open! Friendly owners who make you feel welcome. Great spirits and food! The cheeseburger pizza is delicious and the cinnamon apple bourbon is out of this world. Making it even better is one of the owners is a Wisconsinite. Definitely stop if you are in the area.
Had a great time tasting a whiskey flight at this lil road spot. They were so kind and the food hit the spot
Nice stop on I-90.
Small distillery. The staff is friendly and professional. They have cocktails to offer.
Spoke with Mark. I'm thinking he is the owner.
Mark & Sandy are great people.
Sample tested their brands of whiskey and took some home to Wisconsin. Thanks for the tour.
Husband is laid out flat with a terrible back injury so, left to my own devices in Kudoka, thought I'd get a tasting, maybe bring him back a bottle & buy a few more for gifts. But, no one greeted me. No one ever came to see me. Just a few locals bitching about life-gave me a super icky negative vibe. So, I left with no tasting, no experience, not even a greeting.
Stopped because we like bourbon/ whiskey. Quaint and friendly. We bought two bottles and had a tea. The female server was a riot.
Best bourbon ever!
Great people. Will definitely be back our next time through
