I visited in September; root beer floats were outstanding but the Buffalo wings were very disappointing, soaked and soggy from way too much Buffalo sauce. Lots of bees and flies landing on the table and on our food and drinks.

We found Halleys West after leaving Mt Rushmore and could not have been more surprised and pleased. The food was great but the service was unmatched. The owner was helpful and friendly and so fun with our kids. I have celiac and was shocked to learn they have gluten free chicken tenders with a dedicated fryer. We had an amazing flight of local beers and even sampled some local wines and took a bottle home. This is a 10 out of 10 for small local spots and we’re so glad we found it!

After visiting Mt. Rushmore, we were in search of food and found Halleys West. The store has a nondescript outside with seating and additional seating inside. It's unimposing and has a mom and pop, deli feel. We were immediately warmly greeted by Trig who showed us the menu and shared recommendations. We went with the classic burger and hot shot burger. Both came with fries and both were very good. If you want a quick meal and are in the area, this place has incredible service that makes you feel like family. Stop on in.
