Pay no attention to the negative comments. I stayed here for 8 days for work and it was wonderful. No complaints whatsoever. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was a bit off the beaten path but that’s what made my stay relaxing. It was very quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming. I felt like an actual guest instead of a number. There was actual conversation and engagement. I would not hesitate to stay here again Absolutely recommend.

The owners are doing a great job of continuing the great legacy that the previous owners established. This Motel has been the bedrock for this community for generations. It's always been run by wonderful people. The current owners are being very creative in polishing the edges of an already great remodel by the previous owners. Very nice accommodations for any age.
Food and drinks: Terrific food at the adjoining parking lot.

I want to leave this good review for skeptical people like me who have had bad experiences with smaller motels. I thought I was scarred for life but the Lantern Motel helped me to heal (haha). From check in to check out it was a very positive experience. The staff, which I feel, may also be the owners, were so nice and friendly. The place was clean and I loved walking into a room with an open Bible! It was a very enjoyable stay! Thank you! ♥

Wonderful stay. Very convenient for anglers as I was able to plug in my boat’s battery charger thanks to several outlets on the outside of the building; secluded spot for the boat as well, so i didn't feel nervous about leaving it unhooked when i took my truck to dinner. If you are fishing at Big Stone this is the place to stay. On top of that the service was excellent and the rooms very nice. Will stay here when I’m in the area again.

What makes The Lantern stand out, is how friendly, and phenomenal the staff are. They don't treat you as a number, but truly as a customer, and they put more effort in compared to any high end hotel I've been to.

Chose this spot on a cross-country motorcycle trip. There's not much to choose from in Milbank, but you should absolutely chose the Lantern Motel. The rooms are very clean, the common areas are very clean as well and the owners are very friendly and welcoming and it's clear they want your stay to be a good one. I would not hesitate to stay here again when passing through. Breakfast options were provided also.
