Placed a to go order using the online menu. Food was hot and ready to go when requested it. Tried the updated pizza smash burger and was still a healthy portion size that I couldn't eat it all!! Yum!!!

The Back 40 Taphouse Grill offers a mixed dining experience. While the service is friendly, the food quality can be inconsistent, with some issues reported with the chicken and sauces. However, the Beast Burger and locally-sourced Mac N Cheese are praised as exceptional. The restaurant is dog-friendly and can get busy during local events, but is considered worth the visit by regulars.
The restaurant has a great decor and a unique menu, with TONS of beers on tap and a great variety. It's also conveniently located across the street from the Corn Palace. The portions are quite large, and the food is delicious, with the steak Philly and prime rib being particularly recommended. The garlic aïoli is also superb.
The back patio is a cool place to enjoy the food and drinks, and the restaurant is very casual and kid-friendly, with lots to look at. The owner is also a fantastic bartender, and the restaurant offers happy hour specials and the best fries you'll ever try.
