I had the breakfast bowl and a superior cup of coffee. It was, to say the least, magnificent, fabulous, and delicious. In short, magnifabulcios. The price for such a wonderful and filling breakfast was very reasonable. I highly recommend Blackbird Espresso to anyone who is looking for a delicious, filling, and very affordable breakfast. I give the kids here a 5 star rating based on the quality of service, food and the extremely affordable price.šŸ‘

my partner and i absolutely loved stumbling across this place as we were passing through spearfish. they have a diverse pastry selection—the cheese danish and pizza spiral were amazing. the espresso was a bit underwhelming, but we are coming from seattle, so our coffee expectations are pretty high. not bad coffee, but didn't wow us. drinks were well crafted. would come back again. :)

Delicious food served in a place filled with light. Lots of different table heights and types of chairs. Outdoor seating.

Coffee, espresso and bakery items are always very good. However, the breakfast items could be much better. Our egg bites were almost cold, very salty, and very watery. The breakfast bowl and avocado toast were tasteless. I don't usually write reviews but felt inclined to here - it's always a bummer to spend your hard earned money on mediocre food. I recommend sticking to their coffee and baked goods. ā™„ļø

Every time we stay in Spearfish this is our go to for morning coffee. And a morning bun or avocado toast. Simply fabulous!

I don’t drink coffee but my husband, a coffee connoisseur, says this is some of the best coffee he’s had in a while. He went back the next day and joked they should rename the store to ā€œtop notch coffeeā€. Chocolate chip cookie was delicious and well priced.

Was passing through headed to Devil’s Tower and found this cute coffee spot! I got an iced caramel macchiato which was made to perfection. We ordered the classic aƧaĆ bowl, breakfast sandwich and breakfast bowl. Everything was amazing! Would definitely come back again!

We ordered a chai and matcha. Neither of the drinks were mixed and the syrup was stuck to the bottom of the matcha and wouldn’t mix. The matcha tasted HORRIBLE and was basically all milk. Chai tasted like burnt espresso (we added an espresso) and nothing like chai. Another customer ordered a latte and received it without milk?????

What's going on with the Matcha? Hello! Not sure if this is the correct place to leave comments, but in the past couple months the matchas have went from delicious drinks to warmed milk with a squirt of green. I really enjoyed the matchas previously and would love to be able to continue to get them from a local business. Other than that, amazing experience with this place always: customer service, yummy food, and amazing atmosphere.
