The Original Spearfish Breakfast House

I was looking for some place to eat after hiking & was hungry. So i checked out the downtown. Ordered a burger with fries. The fries were some of the best I have tried anywhere. Delicious burger too! $17 was a great price for a good quality lunch. My server was so friendly and the other staff were attentive & kind. One of the ladies let me try their blackberry sauce. The atmosphere is kind of like an old school diner, but with modern seating. Try it out! you will be satisfied.

We stopped in when it wasn’t too busy and were seated right away. The hostess and our server were both very friendly, which set a great tone for the visit. The food was excellent—I had the eggs benedict with bacon and avocado, and it was honestly the best benedict I’ve ever had. I also loved that they used real bacon instead of Canadian bacon. Their fries were unique too—fun shapes, almost like funky cheese curds, and surprisingly tasty. Overall, a great experience, and I’d definitely come back again.

Stopped on a Saturday morning while on vacation. Got seated within a few minutes. Our server was very friendly and pleasant. Food took a while to show up but it was very delicious and portions were large. Chx fried steak, hash browns, eggs n toast for me. Build your own omelet, toast n hash browns for her. Coffee was kept warm and topped off, the orange juice was mediocre at best tho. Would recommend for anyone looking for a more personal experience at a locally owned establishment.

We are Spearfish locals who were ECSTATIC when the Breakfast House first opened in town! We just went for the first time since the ownership changed and it was sadly very evident that Chris and Lori are no longer there. The vibe felt different almost immediately! Hannah waited on us and while she was nice, she didn’t seem very familiar with the menu or technology they’re now using for orders, and didn’t give us any updates as to why our order took over 40 minutes. My mother in law asked what kind of cheese they had and Hannah just shrugged like she didn’t know. The hash browns also didn’t have their usual perfect golden brown crust. We’ll give it a few more tries, but based on other recent reviews this doesn’t seem to be a one-off experience.

They were gracious enough to serve us even though they were closing soon (2pm). We were hungry and their food did not disappoint. It was delicious, served quickly, and lots of it. Hannah our server was friendly and provided us with great service. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend this place if you want great service and delicious food.

Quickly becoming our go to favorite breakfast place! Friendly staff, great service and the food always delicious. Today I had the avocado bacon benny... OMG! So good! Hannah our server was the sweetest and most attentive without being intrusive. Give this place a try.

We have been coming after the Sturgis rally for 6 years, found this place 3 years ago even though the owners have changed this year still a excellent breakfast, please bring back the corn beef and hash LOL. The best I ever had, thumbs up from a old biker.
