Been waiting years to get to try JRs and they did not disappoint! Absolutely fantastic and a friendly smiling crew! 100% will be coming back
We RoadTrip across the country from the State of Vermont to South Dakota … our 1st trip out west 2023 we found JR’s on a whim OMLORD what a gem 💎 we found The food was outstanding the atmosphere & staff super friendly … we returned the following year (my fault) they were closed the 2days we were there … so we decided next yr 2026 WE WILL RETURN 🛻💨

JR’s catered our daughter’s wedding. The food was absolutely amazing! I had guests tell me it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Even the groom’s family and friends from Texas were surprised on bbq in South Dakota. I was a little nervous about serving bbq at our high end wedding but it was wonderful and I didn’t need to worry, it was great! We highly recommend JR’s.

I stopped at JR's BBQ 4 years ago , while driving a Tow truck out of Pierre, and myself and my co driver, Daniel stopped there every chance we got, and now I live in Rapid , and now that they have a interesting tap room, well now going to have to go back a few more times

We had BBQ in KC City and points in-between. Found JRs on our trip back. This is what BBQ should be. The meat speaks for itself. The bark on the brisket and pulled pork was done perfectly. You can't go wrong on any of the sides. This is a must stop and eat place for great BBQ.

The ribs were good, the brisket was amazing. Possibly the best I've ever had! Also the Mac and Cheese was amazing.

The brisket was delicious. Moist, juicy, cooked just right. The beans, potato salad, and coleslaw were excellent. They have inside dining and a patio area. Perfect if you have pets with you. The owner and staff were friendly and checked to make sure all went well. A 5 star plus experience.

I don't know how I didn't realize this place was in business. I'd been wanting barbecue for a while, and had to go to the airport and stumbled across this gem.
We don't eat out much, but this will definitely be my go to anytime we want to go out. For today's market, the price was very reasonable and everything I had was delicious. The $5 rib tips are a must! I'll be making a special trip out just to some more!
