People have been telling me how great the food is so I gave it a try. Overall it was okay. Thought the smoke flavor was very overbearing. Brisket was the best of all the things we tried.

From South Carolina visiting Rapid City and stopped in to try some local barbecue. I was very impressed with JRs! We had brisket, pulled pork, smokehouse beans, mac and cheese, and cornbread. Everything was fantastic! The meat is so tender, the beans are nice and smoky, and I was a big fan of the sauce. All for very reasonable prices. Check out JRs in between your park visits ??

Had 2 meat and 2 sides. The mac n cheese and coleslaw is good. The pork ribs where excellent with a sweet glaze. With the brisket i seem to have gotten a couple of slices of the end of an old one and it was very dry and then 2 slices of a new one that was the end and very juicy and delicious. It was over all ok. Now me and my husband are from the south we have family that cooks entire hogs on a grill. We are spoiled. This food is probably excellent to most people around here. If you need a bbq fix i would recommend.

We have had barbecue across the country and this is among the best we have had. This includes places like Kansas City, Memphis, Dallas... The standard for me is how good the brisket and ribs are. Here it is amazing every-time we stop in. Luckily its not in our home town or I would be 50#'s heavier. Always order plenty so we have take home as it heats up so well. Staff is always so friendly and helpful!
