My cousin held his wedding reception at The Galley Hotel Bar & Grill, and it was an excellent event venue in Webster, South Dakota. I was the photographer for the wedding, and I was genuinely impressed with how professional and accommodating the staff were ahead of time. They met with me in advance and allowed a walkthrough so I could assess lighting and layout, which makes a huge difference for wedding and event photography.

The space comfortably handled a large reception of 200–300 guests, including an upper-level area for additional seating, and the sound system worked very well throughout the night. The venue was decorated the morning of the event and completely transformed—when you walked in, it felt fun, welcoming, and ready for a celebration. The dance floor, bar service, and overall flow of the space were all well executed.

The food was excellent, and you could tell care was put into the preparation. Honestly, my only complaint is that I wish the buffet had stayed out longer so I could go back for seconds (or thirds). With great bartenders, solid amenities, and attentive staff, this is a strong choice for wedding receptions, private events, and large gatherings in Webster, SD.“
