Passing through on the backroads to CA. Didn't expect much based upon past experience in small towns. What a surprise! Walleye was perfect & ribeye as good as we have ever had. The bar, who gets no requests for a martini delivered a great drink. Enjoyed talking to the staff, who were friendly and engaging. For a town this size, it does not get better.

Under new management and recently remodeled with an interesting western atmosphere, we had a nice breakfast meal with friends. Food was good, service was excellent and it was nice and warm on a chilly day.

The Holiday House is right down the street from the hotel we use when we pheasant hunt. Our group eats in the bar. Great service, good steaks and cold beer (full bar). The burgers and steaks are great.

The food was just basic. Nothing great. i had a "chicken fried steak" that had been fried in oil that should have been changed weeks ago. The coagulated white gravy did not help. This restaurant tries to make a big deal over the fact that it has a "salad bar". What a joke. The "salad bar" is basically a big bowl of iceberg lettuce with a choice of dressings. A few "extras" like pasta salad and potato salad were offered, but they looked sketchy. Even worse than the food was the fact that the staff spent most of their time sitting at a table talking to a location resident who loudly proclaimed his racist, sexist, and homophobic views. All to the amusement of the staff. We left as soon as we could. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in the last ten years. Just a terrible place full or awful people serving horrible food. Avoid it if you can. Note: there is a New Mexican restaurant across the road. Their parking lot was full. I wish we had gone their. Maybe you should too?

This place was within walking distance of our hotel, and while it looks a little rough on the outside, the food did not disappoint!

The reviews listed are all lies at least from the 7 people we had eating. Chicken dinner tasted like it was dropped in plain flour. Prime rib sandwich was paper thin and cold. Battered cod was like fishsticks but worse. Steak was size of small womans palm and thin. Therea a mc donalds down the road
Traveling through South Dakota? Make sure you stop at the bar and grill Holiday House! It's small, and the locals were great! Nice conversation with the couple at the table near us. We ordered the chicken fried steak. It was one of the best I've had in a long time - and we search for good chicken fried steak!

Was in town for a business/pleasure trip. Had dinner and drinks here. Fairly priced, great service and superb fried chicken. Best place in town.

This was one of the few options in Winner and it is a solid option. Waitress was nice once i went and found her. I got the cheese burger and sweet potato puffs. Both were good. The cottage cheese was good as well. They have a good bar selection too.

If you are looking for broasted chicken, this is the place. Remember, it takes time to cook, so don't be in a hurry. It was hot and crispy like it should be. Service was a little slow, but our waitress was the only one on duty, she was pleasant and as prompt as she could be. Remember, this is small town America, show some patience and sit back and take a breath.

I was thru Winner recently with a group of 7 friends. We were looking for a place to have lunch and this place was recommended to us by some local citizens. This is a great local restaurant. The service and food were good. The wait staff was friendly. I had a fish sandwich and sweet potato fries. The rest of my group was happy with the food.
