As this season closes I just thought I would share some of my personal observations and opinions from my many visits this year. The restaurant is always clean and the parking lot is free of litter and trash. When you enter the building there are usually around 5 teens working the counter. They seem to be very helpful to their friends and fellow teens who come in but they seem short with anyone older. One example is my mother and I came in one afternoon and both of us ordered the sherbet of the day in a waffle cone with sprinkles. The teen at the counter was not friendly and did not smile, seemed like she absolutely hated her job, Two teens came in after us annd she was very friendly smiley and nice. They ordered the same thing and were given their cones before us. I’ve noticed this on more than one visit this year. The food always seems to take a really long time even for fresh food and in my opinion I believe it’s the communication between the person cooking and the counter. They seem to get ice cream ready before even giving the cooks any food orders. I used to enjoy Dairy Dock but this year I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop there compared to previous years we used to make special trips just to go to Dairy Dock.
Edit: No I did not notify the manager while we were there as the adult there was being called “mom” by some of the staff and I did not want to start any issues with some teenagers mother

Flippin delicious! The perfect soft serve mix. You know how some places taste very fake or so creamy it's not good? This place tastes great! After I finished my small, I'd wished I had gotten a medium even though it was a good serving size. Priced well and good service. Outdoor seating and lots of parking.

love there icecream. Everytime we go camping I have to hit it up 2 or more times for the week. To me its way better than Dairy Queen. Love the upside down banana split and I think it's called peach split sundae. Be heading there again soon since have another camping trip coming up. Wish they were bigger 😉😉😁😁

This place was bustling but we were able to order right away, find a seat, and get our treats super fast. I recommend the upside down banana split. You definitely get your money's worth, too.

Fun place to get ice cream near Yankton Lake. I ordered the upside down banana split and it was great. Nice selection of sundaes, malts and shakes. Quick service in spite of being busy.

Some of the best ice cream ever, and I grew up on the east coast outside New York. Their peach shakes are one of the great treats of summer. As long as Dairy Dock is open in the summer, life is good

Sadly my first time here and we wont be going back. I ordered two specialty shakes, snickerdoodle and something with mocha and oreo in it. Let me add here I didnt think I needed to read the ingredients on snickerdoodle but I should have, they add snickers in it... why?
Update: Dairy Dock reached out to me and I tried them again. It was 77 outside and my daughter was handed a dipped come already dripping out of at least 5 places. The girl did apologize and we made it work, she enjoyed it even with the dripping. I ordered a Grasshopper this time and it was good but also half melted upon handing it to me.
I was handed the first "snickerdoodle" and the first bite I got a mouth ful of nuts and fudge, so not what I ordered. They took it back, apologized and went to remake it. Then the lady after me got her entire order. Finally I receive the one I forget the name and was told it was a small. I ordered a medium and was worried it was the other lady's order so questioned the worker and she then realized it was a medium and told me so. I took it and tasted it while I still waited for my snickerdoodle. It was BLAND, like really bland, the flavor didnt come out until it was half melted so Im assuming they didnt mix it well.
FINALLY after asking to be reminded of what I was waiting for they made the "snickerdoodle" and I took a taste, found a bit of nut and a stale or fake chocolate bit... confused I looked at the menu again and realized it was supposed to be a snickers and then I was doubly confused as to why they would ever add snickers to a snickerdoodle anything. I mean do they add cotton to cotton candy? It had to be a play on words.
The issue, I dont eat nuts, at least the person I was bringing one to does so he got it. The other issue is I planned to give the other to him but it was half melted by the time I got the second shake on a low seventies day so he got the snickerdoodle anyways.
Bottom line, READ the menu fully and dont expect anything great. We will be going to Box Car or Dairy Queen for frozen treats.

I cannot say I have a decent experience in my 12 years as a customer. Fantastic chicken strips though (if you don’t mind chipping your teeth of course). They could stand not letting every rich person’s kid work there as well. I love the idea of a kid ran ice cream shop, but it only seems like only 70% of the staff actually shows effort in insuring you get what you asked for. It is a beautiful place with so much ambiance, really the only reason I come back at this point unfortunately.
