We chose Carvers Steak House to celebrate our 58th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed an Australian Shiraz. Dinner consisted of oysters on the half shell, French onion soup, the Burata Caprese salad, 7 oz filets and the Chef's choice of chocolate hazelnut mousse torte for dessert. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY DECADENT!!!! Done to perfection with lovely presentation. The staff was very friendly while still being professional. Great atmosphere and lovely choice of background music. A first class experience on our special day!!!

Exceptional service, food and menu, and drinks delivered in very high quality atmosphere. We held a corporate board meeting for 10 people in their private dining room with video equipment for business presentations during the service. Going to book again for next year.

Went for dinner. The appy was amazing. Wine was lovely. My steak Oscar dinner came out Luke warm at best. Not much flavor. Seemed like a tiny amount of canned crab meat on top of steak ( at other steak houses it is full shrimp and scallops usually) very disappointing. Had a tortellini add on and it was so cold inside. I didn’t mention that because it wasn’t edible. Server was nice enough to bring me another but same problem. And I was still charged for it even though it couldn’t be eaten. Def wouldn’t go back. Many other great options in the city.

Outstanding, skilled yet unobtrusive service from the moment we walked in, and food to match. Entrées of PEI oysters and French Onion soup (because, of course, when at a steak house!) were excellent. The soup was dark and redolent of caramelized onions in a rich, beefy broth, making it a flavourful standout compared to many others we've tasted -- even a few in France. We happened to arrive on a night when Chef Dan Walker had added prime rib to the menu as a special, so we opted for that as our main course. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, served with whipped potatoes (one of several choices we were offered), tender fresh carrots and broccolini atop a celeriac purée. A Yorkshire pudding topped the steak, accompanied by a homemade jus which was flavourful and rich -- unlike the thin broth so often served as "au jus". For dessert, try the house-made créme brulée or the fresh-made beignets. The latter is a best seller at Carvers and your first bite will confirm why that is. Served warm with accompanying crème anglais, salted caramel, and scotch caramel dipping sauces, these French-style donuts are to die for; light and airy, and you will not regret adding them at the end of a delightful meal. Served six-to-a-plate, they would also be ideal for sharing -- provided you are feeling generous with your tablemates.

My boyfriend said that that was the best birthday dinner The only complaint I have is the corner booth feels weird to eat at just because of the angles the table is big but everything is placed so close . Service was friendly and personable

We went for our anniversary dinner and it was a great experience. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was amazing. The staff was holding the doors open for us, our water was refilled quickly and the server was friendly.
If you are looking for a good steak and good service, that’s the best place to go to.
