Dahlak is the best restaurant in Saskatoon! It's always my first choice, the shiro and red tibs are a must! When the owner found out my mom was in the hospital, she even gave me extra food to take to her, free of charge! Thank you so much Selam, we love you!

Review ratings are misleading.I had their Red Tibs with rice, food is tasty and not too salty. Food portions are very small for a 22$ main courseBeer served in small can, no glass, two diff music playing in background. It’s only me at the restaurant at 4pm, the host/server looks totally uninterested in serving.I am sorry, I won’t come back here, terrible experience.

Here's a tip: I was debating between ordering a single veggie dish (~$15) vs. the veggie platter (~$22), when the server told me I could get a mini veggie platter– a smaller serving of each of the four veggie dishes for the same price as a single platter. I tried this and was happy with my choice. The dish contained four rolls of injera, the four dishes, plus some bonus cooked green beans that were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and will go back.Vegetarian options: Four main vegetarian dishes plus a platter option.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is so delicious and the service is friendly and inviting. The owner, Salam, has put her heart and soul into this place and it shows. Can’t find a meal quite like it anywhere else in Saskatoon. I’ve seen some complaints about cost, but I find it fair and comparable to most other restaurants. At least here you know you’re getting the quality you pay for. AND she caters to gluten free diets so that’s a big plus :) Do yourself a favour and get dinner here!

We finally had the chance to try this place and we were quite excited to have some Ethiopian food in Saskatoon. The food was good; however, for the portions of protein compared to the the cost was disappointing. Around 25$ for each dish with mostly vegetables and little beef. The somasa was very tasty. The service was good and the atmosphere was quite nice.

Hearty food, above and beyond service! The owner (Salam) served us. Her recommendations were spot on, knowing what we were after. She walked us through the menu and suggested that they offered gluten-free. I would recommend and go there whenever I have a chance.Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian options availableDietary restrictions: Owner is knowledgeable and cares about dietary restrictions

This food is insanely amazing! I had the vegetarian platter with injera. The flavors of all the vegetable samples are perfect. The spice level was mild and the food was not oily at all. The injera is a sourdough flatbread that tastes so good with the vegetables and the ratio of veggies to bread is perfect. Myhusband had the beef and okra and I tasted it too and it was divine. The little morsels of meat were tender and well seasoned. Definitely recommend if you like a balance of amazing flavor, healthy and vegan options.

Really, really good. Would have preferred tap water instead of bottled water. Two platters filed up three of us. Definitely worth stopping in!

The food here is absolutely delicious with friendly service! The only thing that I would recommend is more comfortable seating. There is a bit of a wait for food but the flavours are well worth the wait!

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time, and such a lovely lady who served us! Got the meat and veggie platter, and then some coffee to cap it all off. Fantastic.
