Not sure if what I received went bad. But we had to throw out everything and open the windows to air the place out. Normally I like all food, but this was so terrible. The ogbono soup was slimey (no joke - like actually viscous and slimey), the meat (only 3 pieces!) Was tough and inedible. This food made me convulse and get sick. Extremely over priced.

My Nigerian partner and I go here every time they come to Saskatoon specifically for the meat pies. They said it’s the most authentic meat pie since coming to Canada. We will stop in and order 3-4. But go early because they sell out fast!

I walked into the 8th street branch at about 7pm and placed an order Amala and ewedu with gbegiri with my friend on the 9th of September , 2025. It was badly made and the ewedu was barely a teaspoon in the stew. I don’t know if I would blame it on inadequately training of their foreign chefs/staff on duty. I will definitely never make the same mistake again and will never recommend them to anyone.

Amazing food!!

Need pictured menus, because food is unfamiliar to non-African food consumers.

Tap water tastes funny, recommend filters

Ordered some food for takeout from them and was sadly disappointed. The veggie coconut rice was bland, the reviews for its counterpart with meat were good so I hoped that the vegetarian version would hold the same, but it didn’t. I ordered a side of steamed veggies with it (because it was the only side option that didn’t cost an additional charge) and was surprised with the frozen veggie mix you buy at the grocery store heated up with some butter. The samosas were tiny and for costing nearly $6 I was expecting them much larger. The samosas tasted nice but they were wrapped with wonton paper, something I’ve really never seen before. Overall it was a fairly sad dining experience for something I was really excited to try

Lady at the front desk is unprofessional and lacks basic courtesy. I believe there’s room for improvement in how clients are welcomed and assisted.

This place use to be my go to when it freshly opened. I was so excited to support a new African business..I noticed now the food quality has declined and the portions was too small for the price. I highly disappointed and sad to say I will not be returning

You guys should do better, called to place an order specifically told the person who picked, coconut fried rice without shrimps only to get there and it has shrimps in it and the lady was being rude saying I ordered shrimps, how would I order shrimps when I don’t even eat it. DO BETTER Abeg

Ordered edikaikong soup for the first time from the 8st store. It was just awful, I don’t know if they have warmed the soup a lot of times that the vegetables turned to almost fluid, the meat was extremely soft confirming the above claim. The taste was lost. I just had my suspicion when it was an Indian guy serving me a not common Nigerian delicacy. I just hope I do not purge from it. I have always had it nice from the other store at mcormond. I just hope the jollof rice won’t be the same.

Went with some friends. They barely had anything on the menu. The young lady was nice but she had no clue on how to serve. I knew it was going to be bad when I seen the cook heating up food with three microwaves going hard. My friend ordered the jerk chicken with fried chicken and he got one thigh with a chicken leg quarter for his fried chicken and his charge was like $22.00. When you pay 22$ for chicken and rice you would expect to get at lease a half of chicken ($10 will get you a whole chicken at Walmart and Safeway). I ordered the stewed beef thinking if the meat was stewed then it would be tender…nope. The beef was tough. It was not worth the money they charge for food. I’m all about supporting the people, but you must take care of the people who support you.
