Best ice cream in Saskatoon - and very reasonably priced! Twice as good as DQ but half the price. Amazing!! Don't change a thing.
Sorry - can we talk about the fact that this place is a dimly lit dungeon from a horror film that smells like a massive dirty bathroom when you walk in? We set foot for one look/smell and immediately left to another ice cream venue. Offensive.
Building was hot & smelled off like rotten milk, icecream was mediocre nothing amazing.
We had a couple Sunday's a few days back. The vanilla soft serve must have melted and been refrozen as there was small gritty particles throughout. A sandy/gritty texture. We had a few bites each and tossed them out. The place was hot inside and smelled off.
Homestead Ice cream has best ice creams with so many different flavours! we really love going as a family and enjoying variety of ice creams! Cozy place, lots of options, Such a friendly staff!! they had really yummy Matcha Ice cream! đŠ
A Saskatoon classic for a reason!
Homestead Ice Cream is hands-down one of the best spots in the city for a sweet treat. Their homemade ice cream is rich, creamy, and packed with unique flavours you wonât find anywhere elseâeverything from classics like Butter Pecan to creative picks like Saskatoon Berry Cheesecake.
The old-school charm of the shop gives it a cozy, nostalgic vibe, and the staff are always friendly and patient, even when the line is long (which it often isâand totally worth the wait!). Portions are generous and prices are fair for the quality you get.
Whether youâre craving a cone, a sundae, or just want to try something new, Homestead never disappoints. A must-visit every summer! đŠ
Good local Canadian Icecream
Gone way down hill. Bought 2 Brownie Supremes and there wasnât anything supreme about them. 3 bites of brownie and 2 oz of melty ice cream with a huge blob of whip cream that maybe is there to make it look somewhat ok. Literally 1/3 the size they used to be but for $7.25. The others at our table actually laughed at the size as they were in giant bowls but maybe 5oz of food.
Very sweet ice cream
More colouring and less ingredients
Great ice cream and kind service, such a vibe.

Good service.
Tasty ice cream.
One of the best ice cream spots in Saskatoon! Homestead has that perfect old-school vibe with unique, homemade flavours you wonât find anywhere else. From classics like Tiger Tiger to creative ones like Meewasin Mud or cheesecake sticks â everything tastes fresh and rich.
The place gets busy in the evenings, but itâs totally worth the wait. Staff are friendly, and the patio outside makes it even better in summer.
A must-visit if youâre in town and love real ice cream!
Soft serve was super gritty, sandy texture.
Also asked about the gluten free cone advertised outside on the sign and the staff literally said âI honestly have no idea what we haveâ.
Ate inside and tables were dirty, flies all over window sills.
Not the place it used to be.
Homestead Ice Cream is everything you could want in a classic ice cream parlor. There are tons of flavors of hard ice cream, soft serve, syrups, dipped cones, sundaes, malts, shakes, whoopie pies, ice cream sandwiches, and avalanches (like a DQ blizzard but better). The rustic building looks historic with old-school 50s diner decor including a retro jukebox and checkerboard floor. There's a cute outdoor patio with plenty of seating. There always seems to be a line but it moves fast. Employees were friendly and efficient. The soft serve is so tasty, the Saskatoon berry topping went well with vanilla, not too sweet. The rootbeer ice cream is delightful. The shop takes suggestions for new ice cream flavors which is fun. There are take-home size buckets of most flavors in the coolers as well. We'll be coming back here often, it's the perfect place for a summertime treat.
Chocolate milkshake was basically frothed milk with a few tiny chunks of chocolate bar. The hot fudge sundae was super basic. Big lineup to get served.
