JIA Vietnamese and Chinese Eatery

I had two very disappointing experiences at this Restaurant.

On my first visit, I clearly informed the staff that I do not eat pork and requested that no pork be included in my meal. Despite this, they served me pork spring rolls without telling me. I only found out when I asked at the end, and they casually said, “oh sorry, there was pork, we didn’t notice.” This is extremely careless and unacceptable, especially for someone with religious or dietary restrictions. On top of that, during my meal, no staff member came to check in or ask if I needed anything — which shows very poor service.

On my second visit, the service was even more disrespectful. Instead of welcoming me and letting me sit down, the staff handed me a menu at the counter, as if they didn’t even want to serve me at a table. I felt unwelcome right away. I gave the menu back immediately and left without dining.

Overall, I felt disrespected and disappointed both times. If you care about respectful service or dietary needs being taken seriously, I would not recommend this restaurant.

I love coming here, I come here so much the people actually know me by name and what I order , the cold rolls are the absolute best in the city and I’ve tried so many other places and the cold rolls they make, this place beats them all, the spring rolls can be hit or miss but usually they are spot on !!

Can’t believe I forgot to give this place 5-stars a year ago! An excellent dine in and take-out experience with every visit.

Preface: We love Vietnamese, Thai and many other varieties of Asian cuisine so much that we also learned how to cook many dishes at home.

Finally decided to try this place based on reviews and how close it is to our home. Although all the food we ordered was hot and fresh, everything tasted quite bland. The spring rolls were crispy but lacked flavour. The fish sauce tasted like slightly salty water with no complexity or depth in flavour. The Tom Yum soup had very little flavour and the chicken that was in it was obviously boiled in plain water and thrown in the broth later.

The service is good and the place is clean but the food isn't good enough to warrant any more visits.

Cold rolls and Bun Bo Hue are unmatched!

It'd be more accurate to say 3.5/5. Service was good, the portion size was great, and the ingredients used were great but the broth flavor was lacking.

Its okay, not bad not fantastic. Would be good and convenient if you live in the area.

For a small place they make it work. Food is always hot and consistently good.
Best of all cheap and quick !

Nice neighborhood restaurant and great place to get Chinese food.

We were in the near by area and saw the restaurant and decided to check out. The friendly and attentive staff made us very comfortable, took the order and food came to the table within minutes.

Oh, the food! we ordered the pepper chicken and fried rice, and it was love at first bite! The chicken was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spice from the peppers. And the fried rice was fluffy, flavorful, and filled with tasty veggies. In one word I would say it’s a hidden gem!

I think their food is good but not alone of flavour. The broth is bland and the wontons are mushy

Ive had noodle bowls near and far. Its my one of my favorite dishes since childhood. This is likely the worse one I've had in the city. 1 spring roll, the protien was slathered in some sauce I've never seen in Vietnamese food. The fish sauce was not good.

Food came out fast.

Ordered the chicken satay and beef chowmein, both had a weird smell and fishy taste, was so bad couldn’t even eat it. No not recommended eating at this place!!!
