One of the dishes tasted a bit burnt (the other dishes were fine). They also wanted a tip for a pickup order.

Noodle bowls are awesome.
Wonton soup is practically a meal on its own.

I have been coming here for most of my life. Before it was Mi Hong and it was Northview. Same great taste. The spring rolls are superior, I like a good mix of the fish sauce with chili oil as well as I order a side of peanut sauce. I always get the #43 which is a satay rice dish with chicken and beef and I substitute the shrimp for their grilled pork. The satay sauce is superior as I’ve searches far and wide across Canada at many Vietnamese restaurants and haven’t had anything compare. A taste of nostalgia every time I visit from BC.

Oh my goodness this place was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was quick, with friendly staff. Everything is very reasonably priced and you get a ton of food out of it.

Extremely rude and abrupt when asked if theysold a dinner for one - no problem if they don't sell it - but the rudeness from a man towards an older senior woman was truly unsettling - will not go here again - Tong's Wok, across the street served a truly excellent Dinner for 1

If you have ever been to half decent Vietnamese Restaurant, do NOT expect to be wowed by this one. I ordered the lemongrass beef noodle bowl and received a bowl full of noodles with 5 small pieces of beef, a tablespoon of carrots and all of the salad on the bottom. Presentation was terrible and taste was mediocre at best.
The only saving grace was the Vietnamese iced coffee which was good but it would be pretty tough to screw that up.
I do NOT recommend.

Mi Hong is yet another hole-in-the-wall place that all the regulars love so much they only tell their best friends about it. The staff are friendly, do their job well and check in with you often enough to make sure you're taken care of but not so often that you feel hassled.

I find that the state of the staff is very high on my list. If they're happy and helpful, that is a very big temperature taker for how everything else is.

I had supper there with my wife and we both thought the spring rolls were the best we'd ever had. Nice and crispy on the outside, packed well in the middle, and full of great flavor.

As with most restaurants it was a little noisier than I liked, but really not bad. Part of this was helped by the intimate setting. Tables for 4 were probably the largest layouts and the restaurant is on the long and skinny configurations.

I also enjoyed the special fried rice, even though I myself prefer more garlic in it. The ginger beef wasn't over salty but my wife wanted more ginger in it. However, still very good.

I highly recommend.

#33. That's all I need to say. Huge portion, and huge flavors.
