Dirty practices. The scruffy worker in the middle of the line was cleaning with a cloth and digging bits of food waste out of the corners with his fingernails. The lady at the end of the line passed my poutine to the dirty hands guy to close the box and put in in a bag for me. I won't be going back here.
Don't handle people's food with filthy hands.

Went here with my partner. They ordered a plain hot dog and the people behind the register audibly laughed at them. Horrible service and not even friendly. Don’t recommend and don’t plan to come back even though we love new york fries.

As a fellow mall employee I feel extremely taken advantage of as I come here few times a week on lunch and I always order the works with cheese curds instead of the cheese cause as it makes my stomach upset and suddenly after 8 months I’m being charged nearly $2 for half a scoop of cheese curds (mind you for a regular size I always get 2 scoops with the regular poutines and when I substituted. When I mentioned they told me that’s the portion size now… I won’t be returning if I’m being scammed for ingredients I’m not receiving. All the poutines cost the same. Why is there a upcharge to swap?

We recently visited NY Fries at Midtown Mall, and it was an awesome experience! The fries were fresh, crispy, and perfectly lightly salted—just how I like them. The service was top-notch, quick, and efficient. The staff was friendly and made sure everything was great. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend.

Food was really good. I got the works-regular size. Yummy me and my child loved the flavor. Workers were nice, a bit distracted. We came mid morning so not much people around. But good otherwise. Not busy around 10:30am-11am.

I visited Midtown Mall today, and my daughter ordered a Medium Butter Chicken Poutine from New York Fries. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The gravy served was noticeably less than what we have received at other New York Fries locations. Having ordered this dish multiple times elsewhere, we immediately noticed the quantity and quality were not up to standard.

When my daughter asked for a bit more gravy to balance the dish, she was informed it would be chargeable. I then accompanied her to show them that the poutine was nearly dry, and the quantity of gravy was clearly insufficient. The manager came back and offered $10, but I made it clear that this was not about money—it was about service. To emphasize my point, I offered back $20 as a tip despite the poor service.

The issue was never about the cost but rather about how customers are treated. I was not asking for free food, nor am I a beggar looking for handouts. It’s about fairness and basic customer service. I understand that working in a busy mall can be frustrating, but staff should recognize that not every customer is the same. A little courtesy and understanding go a long way.

They are super efficient and friendly. Have worked in the mall for 13 years and never had an issue here

This location is great! I’m always impressed with how well they train their team. Everyone is aware and working together to complete orders and help customers. It can get fairly busy but they are always friendly fast and efficient.

I visited New York Fries at Midtown on January 15, 2025, and had a great experience. The hotdog and fries were quickly served, which was perfect for my schedule. The staff were very nice and patient with me as I wasn't sure what to order. They suggested meals and better deals if I wanted a combo, which was really helpful.

Overall, I liked the experience and appreciated the friendly service. It's a good spot for a quick and satisfying meal.

Everyone working here is always so nice! They are quick making the food and are so incredibly kind.

New York fries is a wonderful place and brand to have good of your choice but on this place service was pathetic and no hygiene at all. I went with my kids and ordered fries the lady was serving with gloves, used her chin to open the box. What the shit they are serving. This place is so unsanitary like their fries are kept out in the air and ready in the baskets with multiple stacked on top of each other. Staff is friendly but they need serving etiquettes and should follow proper hygiene.

The staff were rude. There wasn’t enough gravy in my poutine and when I asked them for extra they said I will have to pay additionally for it .

The team at the midtown plaza location are some of the best people I have met they have an amazing dynamic they work well together and most importantly they are the friendliest people within the food service industry I have ever met so if any of them see this review keep up the amazing work guys!
