Absolutely horrible food. Cold fries, soggy flat bun and no ice in the water. Was so excited for southern food. Very disappointed.

Had heard so much of this place so we decided to order in. Half the chicken pieces had burn spots and all were very overcooked, dry and incredibly salty, did not taste fresh but rather stale, threw alot of it out. Fries were good but again the gravy was insanely salty, mac and cheese was tasteless and grainy. Very disappointed, will not be eating there again

My boyfriend always raves about this place and I finally went to try it with him. Super good and huge portions. I had to take my sandwich home because it was so big. Loved the atmosphere as well and owner seems really nice. So good!

I did not expect this.Normally you order a burger and it's got a small patty... so I usually double up. I got a massive burger and I mean massive. And the flavor was to die for! I ordered my dinner for later from T's and I cannot wait for break time at work tonight. Holy damn. They did add fries to the meal but I was only able to finish the burger.Absolutely incredible food and you get a LOT! I'm 6'2 310.. I barely finished the burger... 10/10 will be ordering from here again real soon

I can’t help but laugh at some of the reviews I’m seeing on this place. It’s like people in little ol’ Saskatoon think they’re experts on southern cuisine ?I have been here. And enjoyed my visit. The food was great, the staff are friendly and made sure we were content the entire time we were there.I think it’s pretty gross to read reviews from people knitpicking things that are so minor. It’s a southern style restaurant people! If you want uncomfortable boujee atmospheres with stuck up servers you can absolutely find those places in the city if you so choose to go to them .But this is very much a family vibe kind of place and the people running the show are working hard to please their customers and earn a living. The details behind how this restaurant came to be are pretty emotional and I think some of you should consider reading into that. Maybe it will help you make conscious choices before spewing stupid reviews and ratings all over the place, potentially harming the reputation of people who are trying to find success in a cruel world. Small businesses have to work so hard to stay afloat these days and a little courtesy and respect from patrons goes a long way!!

My boyfriend and myself love to try many restaurants around Saskatoon. This was one that we were very excited to try. The restaurant has an air hockey table which was extremely loud and very disruptive if youre trying to have a conversation. I have kids but this was extreme. We waited close to 40 min wait for our food. I had the chicken burger the bun was so dry it crumbled with every bite, the side pasta salad was about 3 bites. There was many of the items on the menu taht we not available.

Although the owner was super friendly and 'some' of food was tasty, I'm not quite sure how it's "the best" restaurant in Saskatoon. I guess people here have never really had a great meal. They didn't have what I wanted on their menu in stock. What I did order, the bun was generic and had hard edges, my fries were barely medium temp-tasted lots of gritty dirt from the potatoes and over salted. The sauce on the chicken was good, because it was different, but that's all. Service was horrible, we waited so long to have our order taken, that we almost walked out. And then we waited a long time to get our food. The server could not handle the 3 tables of people in the place. It's an old dingy rugby clubhouse. The floors were very dirty and the place just looked unkept. The servers apron was so filthy, it looked like she hadn't washed it in a week. Super hot, no air conditioning. We came because the reviews were all the rage and honestly it's not like the reviews at all. We won't be back.

It saddens to me to write this review since hubby and I have had Talayahs in Saskatoon on our list of places to try for so long. I love southern food and had high hopes. The chicken and waffles were terrible. It seemed the chicken was cooked at too high of a temp and was dry and hard. The only flavor it had was salt, overbearingly so to the point of being unedible. The waffles were generic fluffy cakes, so if you like them like that you're set, but I like mine with a bit of crispness. It was served with butter and regular table syrup. Nothing in it at all said southern, or any flavor profile at all.The shrimp po boy was bland and again no real southerness. The bun was rock hard and the shrimp even though clearly coated tasted of nothing. The only good thing about it was the "Tae tae" sauce which tasted like big Mac sauce with tabasco. The server was awkward and off-putting.Sadly we won't be back, which is a shame. We love supporting local.

3 Piece Chicken n Waffles Nashville style, the skin is like candy. Best chicken in town hands down

Chicken had good flavor, but the sides were not great. Collard greens were inedible as they were extremely salty....and I like salt. Guy there was extremely personable and understanding.

We went there for my birthday lunch, only to find their regular menu was unavailable, with only a rugby menu to order off of, due to a rugby tournament. When we showed our surprise and disappointment, the owner told us we would be taken care of, gave us menus, and we had the most delicious lunch ever. Service was so over and above anything I've ever experienced, and the chicken, sides and dessert were absolutely amazing!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!

By far the best fried chicken I've ever had. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and I will absolutely be returning for more soon.
