The Cave Reviews
We had a 7:30 reservation and we had to wait 45 minutes. They were seating 8:00 reservations before us because they knew them. Food was average. Definitely comes off Sysco truck. Not home cooked at all.
Just had dinner there tonight after we heard the place was closing. Dinner was great and service was Excellent. I used to go there with my Mom when I was a kid , took my kids there as well. Your leaving a great legacy
I would recommend The Cave for the experience and the food for the most part. We've gone there twice in the past few months. Service was great. 3-4 meals were very good and good value for your dollar. One dish was very disappointing and thankfully it was me who had ordered it as if it had been my husband he would have sent it back and/or the very least complained to management. The Cave offers a unique dining experience with amazing food and excellent service. The friendly staff make up for the welcoming, which some guests found a bit lacking. The stuffed mushrooms come highly recommended, and the owner goes above and beyond to make events like birthdays special with reasonable prices and fantastic service. The pride of ownership from the family business shines through, making this restaurant a must-visit unlike any other. Customers have praised the attentive and friendly waitstaff, including a very helpful waiter, and the owner/manager, who was described as lovely and made their experience memorable. The food, such as the chicken lemonati with mushroom sauce, breaded cutlets, and chicken souvlaki, has received positive reviews. Guests also enjoyed the atmosphere, which is like none other, and found the food to be great and reasonably priced, living up to its legendary reputation in Saskatoon. The cozy and unique atmosphere truly justifies the name, creating a memorable setting. Some guests noted that service can be slow, especially at the bar, with a few tables waiting for drinks, and there is room for improvement in areas like bread and restroom supplies. One visit was marked by a short wait for seating and a delicious pizza, though the wait time was nearly an hour, leading to concerns about staffing and organization. Overall, The Cave remains a popular spot for good old comfort food and a cool atmosphere reminiscent of a 1970s Flintstone cave.
