10/10 every time
We love seeing our server, John. I had the chicken lemonati and asked for the mushroom sauce from the picatti. đ my son said the breaded cuttlets were well seasoned. And the chicken souvlaki big pieces. đ
Itâs the Cave. Lots of history. Great authentic Greek cuisine. Great food. Nice lounge. 5 star all the way
We had the change to meet the owner/manager and he was so lovely! We had an amazing experience in the restaurant, the friendliest staff! They went out of their way to make our experience special, they are the warmest and most attentive hosts!
Stopped in at the cave restaurant for supper, we have eaten there before and food and service was great. Unfortunately this time was not the case. Waiter was not friendly and rushed, brought one guest meal before appetizers came to the table, forgot to bring soup that was included with meal for another guest. Did not come back for another guest refill or ask if wanted more as they were drinking a different beverage. Steak was not cooked as guest had asked. Food tasted great but the service was poor.
Myself and 5 other adults of my family came here for supper today. I didnât care for the bread they give but nice itâs offered. It tasted dry and plain. Better appetizer bread would be good. The waitress was attentive and very friendly, the atmosphere was nice and the food was good. My aunt said she didnât like her fish order much but my pasta was great! I asked for mushrooms to be added but I guess they forgot. I used the bathroom and two out of three stalls had no toilet paper and they had just opened at 4 and we were there at 5:30 so that could have been more maintained. I let someone know. Overall it was good but a bit better attention to detail would have been good. I like to give positive but constructive criticism for improvement. Thank you for the nice dining experience! (Oh also the caveman car display on the corner outside is quite funny and definitely not a nice looking reflection of a fine dining restaurant sorry)
The staff very very friendly! Atmosphere amazing.
Food on the other hand , an extreme disappointment!!! Hope I donât get food poisoning. Made my daughter sick. The spaghetti sauce tasted like it was from a can.She didnât even eat her food. The Greek ribs were so dry and extremely salty. We drove all the way from Winnipeg just to come to the cave as I remember what a great experience we had 20 years ago when we were in Saskatoon on a business trip. Restaurants was dead.Hmmm wonder why????
And then the bathroomsâŚ.gross⌠walls filthy, toliet seat broken and door lock busted and stuffed with toilet paper.
So sad that we drove all this way.
And please donât tell me to call George. Is there really a George?? Also the last review I read youâre going to give a 200$ donation , seriously????
What about giving that family a refund for their meal.
Never again will I come or recommend the cave to anyone!!
Disappointed overall!
Though the food was decent and our personal server was obviously trying (which is the only reason this is a 2 âď¸ rating) but the overall experience was a complete let down.
Calling ahead to reserve a quiet, secluded and romantic setting proved to be a waste of time, even though I called twice to make certain everything was right!
There was a massive party in the lounge and the noise kept interrupting our date which I get weâre not the only patrons but had my reservation been respected, we wouldâve been in a space where we wouldnât have heard it!
This is obviously a family run bizz, which I love but it brings forth a very lackadaisical attitude between some of them, right down to a young man folding pizza boxes beside our table and then playing hide and seek with a couple friends and a few loud and casual conversations on the floor instead of BOH.
If a family diner is what youâre looking for, great this is the place but if youâre looking for a romantic dinner out, Iâd suggest maybe try elsewhere.
Worst part was, casually and politely voicing my disappointment created discord between my date and I which left the ENTIRE night off track.
My philosophy is, if you donât know, you canât fix it but the staff here didnât seem to even wanna know.
So hereâs the thing havenât been to the cave in years. Looking forward to it, I knew it was under new management so figured weâd give it a try. Made a reservation for 6:30 got there ten minutes early. Didnât get seated until 7:00 pm and thatâs with the reservation. Waitress was rude clearly didnât want to be working that day or something. Looking through the menu friend who is celiac asked if they had anything gluten free to which the waitress snapped. âWell did you ask for the gluten free menu?â That would have been good to know from the start, but donât snap at a customer if they are unaware of that if itâs not advertised. The night went on we all ordered our meals. Food also took a long time to come 30-50 min. Waitress barely came by, another waitress came and topped up our drinks because the first waitress didnât seem to care. Just a shitty night all around. Food was mediocre although that probably was due to the crappy service and the waitress really put a damper on the night. Wouldnât recommend.
We had a 7:30 reservation and we had to wait 45 minutes. They were seating 8:00 reservations before us because they knew them. Food was average. Definitely comes off Sysco truck. Not home cooked at all.
Restaurantji Recommends

The Cave was a wonderful place for a family gathering in a separate room. Loved the food and service. Only complaint was the ins and outs of the restaurant are confusing but the staff was more than happy to help. Parking was bad also but that ment it was a busy place!

The restaurant feels like you went into a time machine (not in a bad way - just memories for me) but the food is way better than you'd expect for a restaurant that feels like the 70s or 80s.
I had the chicken souvlaki and it was delicious and very moist.
Our server was very good as well.
