The Hose and Hydrant Brew Pub

This place is a mess. Very over served clientele always breaking glass and throwing cig buts outside by the school, and the music is so loud on the weekend you can’t even be in there. Definitely an eye sore in the neighbourhood.**Update since the owner replied - I've never gone here and not seen extremely intoxicated people. The eye sore is all the puke and broken glass and cigarette butts that perpetually litter the sidewalk in front of the bar's entrance, and the "DJ" on the weekend plays music so loud the walls shake. Don't act like you don't know.

On our recent visit we were very disappointed in the service. We weren’t greeted when we walked in. We had to walk up to the bar to get refills, while the waitress took selfies on her phone. The server never asked how our meal was and we waited forever for the bill. It was like we were a burden as customers. It hasn’t been like this in the past but it’s discouraging for ever returning. Unfortunate, as the food was good.

Nice looking place the roof top patio looked like a nice place to sit and relax but never checked it out. Nice quiet bar not much people. Bathroom smelt like gross piss ( most likely diseased up urine ).waitress was nice served us.

Nice pub. Fair amount of space. Great rooftop deck. Staff was attentive. Food was good. I enjoyed my cider!

Service Staff could use some interpersonal skills for sure when dealing with people and providing customer service.

My good friends are doing a promotion at the hose and hydrant patio. The patio is quite nice the bar itself is interesting a very steep staircase I can't imagine it's very safe but as long as you're not too drunk you shouldn't have a problem with it LOL. The staff is super friendly and I found it very easy to get drinks I haven't eaten there so I have no idea what the food tastes like.

Me and buddies come here on sundays after our rides by the river. the staffs always super friendly they have good food, good drinks and good prices. highly recommended this place

I really don’t write reviews but my experience was so annoying that I had to write this one.I ordered my food and a beer, was trying to have a good time by myself but the waitress keep bugging/disturbing me (legit five times) throughout my meal just to ask when I’ll be done. I mean I am not gonna dine and dash but I found it very insulting.Then comes the part when I was done with my food. She was constantly staring at me throughout the time and as soon as I lift my head to ask for the cheque, she literally ran towards me and was expecting me to tip her. I mean who does that!? It was so unprofessional!I am not a “cheap” person. I was really gonna give her a good tip but her behaviour made me regret about tipping her.Totally not cool!

Great food and good service. The atmosphere was also quaint but still relaxing feeling just had to wait a few extra minutes for another pint a couple times and had to ask for cutlery for the hot hamburger which requires cutlery in order to eat without looking like a caveman lol

All staff greeted us when we walked in (must be a house policy) but went downhill from there. The carpet up the stairs to the deck is grossly dirty. The deck/patio has been highly recommended by people but it was underwhelming. It was dirty too. The table we sat at was not cleaned from previous customers, and it was wobbly. Had to level it with an upside down plate. The service was slow. Took ten minutes to get a menu from a surly server even though the place was only a quarter full. Ordered nachos and quesadilla. The quesadilla was fine. The nacho chips were greasy, the dish were in the broiler/oven too long so the cheese was overheated and beyond melted, so tough and chewy. The extra taco beef on them was a ripoff - less than a quarter cup for $4 !!! Overall a very disappointing experience. More of a dive than a great pub - there are many better options in the hood.

Very filthy, have never been to a bar this dirty ever. We ask the bartender/only staff on the floor, if its seat yourself and she says yes. So we sit at a table and were suprised when our hands stuck to the tabke it was so sticky and my seat was damp. So we quickly got up and sat at a different table which had horrific stains and what looked like water damage all over the seats. We picked the lesser evil and sat there. We received waters and a menu. The prices were quite high and we quickly left. Its one thing to charge those prices when you have a nice establishment but another when its grimy, dark and filthy inside. No thank you

It took forever to bring us glass of water, and this a joke right, they brought water in a glass for kids ? ???? look at the size ???? plus took forever to take the food orderMake sure to tell the waitress to take your order every time she is walking by
