Went over the long weekend to get ice cream, I ordered a smartie twister and it was just hard ice cream scooped into the cup with full smarties on top. Very disappointing.

Have stopped here a few times over summer while at the river front spray pad, previous experiences were good and what to be expected of such place.. but last night the chalk board advertised orange and vanilla dole whip which I had got earlier in the week and enjoyed.. last night service was rude, the portion was way smaller than previously given for the same order and it was only orange dole whip, not vanilla. This would have been fine if they had said they were out, but they were letting people pay a d wait ib line without informing them, or at least change the chall board sign. Guy working with til was sitting down slouched over and rude, previous expierince had been pretty nice service and generous portion for the price. Disappointing end of season treat.

I went here during the weekday during the daytime, so it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the mini donuts, but they were more oil than donut. The only way that happens is if you dunk the donuts into cold oil. The oil had seeped into the donuts so badly that liquid oil was sitting inside the air pockets of the donuts. It literally felt like a heart attack eating these, with the unpleasant taste of oil. I am almost 100% positive that they shut off their deep fryers when they don't have orders coming in. At a place where the only food items are ALL deep fried, why do you shut off your deep fryers? Can't you keep at least one on?
Hard Ice cream is alright, but the banana strawberry tastes quite artificial. Not going to complain about that though because lots of kids like that.
Service is slow. Slow to get food items, and sometimes the staff look at you but don't acknowledge you standing at the order counter. I get it if you are busy, but I don't really appreciate when staff just buggers off somewhere else while you wait for them to do God knows what.
Atmosphere is good because there is a spray park so close. They did a nice job decorating with the fairy lights, but my son is too small to sit on the stools, so I have to sit him on my lap while he eats his ice cream.

Had a soft serve cone and didn’t even taste like ice-cream, what a waste of money could have got better cone at McDonalds at a fraction of the price. Ordered 4 cones with one in a cup for my Mom, they put all in cups not what we ordered. Can’t even call it ice-cream. Will not be going back.

Okay, so I was at the Sugar Shack today for the first time. I ordered a poutine. Nothing else. Waited for over 40 minutes. Other people were waiting for a very long time as well with their orders. I was about 30 seconds away from walking up to the counter to ask if they had fogotten about me when they finally called my name. The food was cold. The curds were hard. The food did not taste nasty. It's just a bit of a turn off when it's cold. I decided to cut my losses, chew and swallow the food as quick as possible, and leave. I didnt want to waste another minute with that place.

Last Saturday at noon, my boyfriend and I came here. When we were ordering, the woman at the front desk asked for his name. When he said “Ayden,” she smirked and said, “You don’t look like Ayden.” What does that mean? Just because he has an Asian face, he can’t have an English name?
We then waited for almost an hour without getting our order, even after customers who arrived after us had been served. So, my boyfriend asked the woman twice about it, and she just rolled her eyes and ignored him (Is there something wrong with your eyes?). Finally, the cook told us that they hadn’t received our order from her and it would take at least 15 minutes to start. Can I assume she pushed our order to the back and prioritized others?
So, we went to the front desk to ask for a refund, and this ridiculous woman told him the refund was fine, but the tip should be kept. ??? When my boyfriend refused, she said, “ I've never seen anyone like you in Canada.” LMAO Why should we tip a racist receptionist? Did you provide any service other than mocking and eye-rolling?
I understand maybe you need the money to support your poor, miserable life, but for someone as uneducated, ignorant, and arrogant as you, it’s best to leave the service industry ASAP. I’m also shocked to encounter someone like you in such a friendly city.
One suggestion: Save up and travel the world. Stop being so narrow-minded, and maybe it will make you a less unpleasant person. — To the woman serving at the front desk at 1 PM on June 17.

It is an absolute pleasure to eat here and it's my go to excuse to come everytime I'm downtown. The food rocks it is so delicious. The delicious loaded farmers sausage (with no ketchup)and their amazing perfect fries is my new go to and its 10/10 so delicious. Today, it was like the outside of the sausage was caramelized (mmmm)and I ask for it on the darker side because I love it that way. I have yet to try the smash burgers. The grilled cheese so yummy and an incredible amount of cheese it oozes out everywhere. The icecream cones are so big I always get the large in a waffle cone. Seriously, I'm addicted to this place and their amazing food.
