I've always had a great experience here. The food is always great, and good portions at a fair price. The drink menu is endless and the atmosphere is super unique.

I have always enjoyed going to The Thirsty Scholar for food and drinks, however yesterday was not a great experience. I will not be going back nor recommending The Thirsty Scholar to anyone.When we first got there, the server took over 15 minutes to even bring us some menus and take our drink order. She served people that arrived after us first. When she eventually came to take our food order, she forgot her pen so she left to go get it, but then started serving other customers leaving us waiting for another 10 minutes.After we had eaten I asked for the bill. She never came back so I went up to the bar to pay bill. However after reviewing my bill I noticed the prices are $3-$4 more than what is listed on the menu. For example the menu lists the steak sandwich for $19.99 but the price on my bill was $23.99. I asked the server to check this. She looks at the menu then asks another server about it. Both of them no clue, doesn't even go ask the manager about it. I was in a rush so I didn't have time to talk to the manager. I just paid the bill and left.So my advice to the management is please train your servers better and update the prices on the menu. It is false advertising otherwise.In terms of the food, it was just ok. The quality and quantity have gone down. The steak sandwich was a bit under cooked and did not have very much flavor. The amount of fries was very small too. All this for $23.99?I really hope they improve their quality and service.

The staff was great! The lack of stars is due to the buck hunter being broken, i even asked a staff member if we could plug it in.The other missed star is due to their food items. We got the toro tots and they were awful. Theyre not tots to begin with its like mashed potatos with other stuff mixed in and put in a pan and frozen and then fried to order. 0 stars. They need to be taken the menu - and it said they were a staff pick! They were absolutely appalling!!The food arrive warm - not hot - it wasnt busy either due to the snow storm and everything on the platter tasted undercooked.The fiesty dip was probably the best thing on the platter and was still very meh and the "points" aka tortilla chips were undercooked.Revamp the menu and fix the machine its what the people want!Thanks!

Wouldn’t recommend this place for a large group. Had a hard time ordering drinks/food, the server had no menu knowledge and seemed absolutely miserable, we had a group of 22 and it quickly turned into 10 as we were unable to order drinks at the pace we wanted to drink them at so everyone gave up and left. The area we reserved was pretty dirty and one of the tables we had was so loose you couldn’t get on or off the chair without almost dumping everyone’s drinks and there was so much gum underneath it you couldn’t even hold onto it to steady it. Prices aren’t bad at all for cocktails but that was about the only redeeming quality of the night.

We were looking for wings night, so based on the reviews we decided to go try it out on Wednesday. The service was very good, but the wings were mediocre. The wings did not taste fresh other than the barbeque flavoured ones. The buffalo ranch ones were old. The drinks were good and came promptly. There were some very classic features, and some of the furniture looked a little dated.
