Shankey On The Water

A great find while we were camping at Lillydale. They were on a skeleton crew when we visited, but our server Barb (the only server there at the time) and the kitchen staff did not let that slow them down. We were seated quick, communicated with often, served quickly and to top it off the food was delicious! The onion rings are some of the best i've ever had. We highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Great food and view! We were in the area visiting Standing Stone State park and ate here both nights. The scallops were amazing and we also enjoyed the ahi tuna appetizer and the blackened mahi mahi.

The absolute best food on Dale Hollow Lake! And, as good a meal you could find about anywhere else. Their Seared Scallops are the most tender and best tasting scallops we've ever had. And we eat a lot of seafood! The Ahi Tuna appetizer is amazingly good, too. They have live music during the peak lake months from talented entertainers. Great place!

The food was excellent. My sister loved her Mahi Mahi, and I very much enjoyed my shrimp in the cream sauce. Our server was excellent. We ate indoors because it looked like rain. People outside were smoking, and I could smell the smoke inside. I'm glad we didn't eat outside.

Pet friendly! The food we had was absolutely fantastic! We were told the Chef is from the Bahamas and the waitress recommended the scallops. They were really great! We have gone several times in the past week and have tried the Oysters Rockefeller, scallops, French onion soup, asparagus, tuna, salad and calamari. The only thing we won't order again is the calamari. It isn't fresh breaded and doesn't taste very good. The fish comes in fresh twice a week and we have been impressed with all are other dishes. One of the best restaurants on Dale Hollow Lake for sure!

What a fun place, great atmosphere AND great service! We had drinks (great Long Island Ice Tea) upstairs overlooking the water. Chris and Christy took care of us, both were excellent and very personable! We had a variety of food starting with an appetizer of peel and eat shrimp. All were good. We also enjoyed the live music! Great place to hang out. We will be going back on our next trip!

We had a great time at Shankey On The Water restaurant. The drinks were well made and the service we received from Chris and Christy could not have been better. The people their were so nice and friendly. I will definitely go there next time I’m here.

Let me start off by saying the server was great. The food was mediocre and when we ate their they had no drink menu and no posted Prices we get our first drink In a 8 oz cup you would get from a fast food place if you ordered a water and the one I had was weak so we ordered doubles from then on 10 drinks total to be exact but we we’re definitely in shock when we got the bill and the 8 oz double margaritas were 22$ each and the cheapest brand liquor you can find I definitely expected to pay more for being on the water but not 240 dollars the manager did come take some off the bill which we definitely appreciated and blamed not having a menu because she was busy and in college and didn’t have time to get one ready but they sure had time to make 22 dollar drinks we definitely won’t be back

Amazing atmosphere great staff delicious food definitely will be coming here all season.

Kid-friendliness: They give kids free Ice cream for being safe and wearing life vest.

Great Chef Specials, Great Pizza, Great Views!

We seen the video of cabin 7 and made a reservation, as we got there, the office is far away, you have to walk down a long pathway through the boat dock to get to the office, if you have breathing problems, (which my husband has C.O.P.D.) this is hard to do, the office needs to be when you first come into the marina, for check in, they have a small cabin when you first come into the marina which belongs to is the maids, housecleaning supplies inside, this should be where you check in. Cabins wasn't quite like the video, this video must have been made when the cabin was first built. video showed really nice deck, not all like the video, deck nails some were sticking up, needed to be nailed down, old deck, needed to be painted and repaired, my husband was walking bare foot and caught his foot on one, some of the boards was starting to come up. There was poison sumac growing up one of the corners of the deck post, they need someone to spray and around plants, you could see the poison sumac around some of the plants and roses, really taking over. Video showed french doors in bedroom, no french doors, took them out, board covering up where they had been, really tacky. No couch, 2 full size beds and chair. Blind, some of the slacks were missing and broken, curtains on door needed replaced, In the bathroom, was really nice, 2 sinks, nice shower and bathtub, but in the video showed a rug, there was no rug, as you step out of the shower, you have to step down, very slippery, dangerous, could slip and fall, have to be VERY CAREFUL, needs a rug there to prevent a bad fall. The parking lot seem to be full most of the time, people who had houseboats would park in the spaces and couldn't get to park next to your cabin, need to have reserved parking spaces in front of your cabin for the ones who rent there cabins have a place to park and you don't have to park a half mile away. Also boat dock, we was suppose to have a space near our cabin, our space we had for our boat was 3 boat docks over, we had to load our things we wanted to take to boat everyday to the truck and drive over to the boat dock, very inconvenient. Cabin 7 does have a beautiful view, overlooking the boats and the water and you can hear the music on the weekend was nice. For the price they charged, every thing should be just like there video, and keep the cabins updated.
