The food was tasty and plentiful. We came here for breakfast and since it’s only open until 1:30, we assumed breakfast was served for their entire time they were open. We were wrong. I wished they had that posted somewhere here in google, I also don’t get what’s so hard to make breakfast after 10am. But I’m from New York, where lots of places make breakfast food and regular food at the same time. We are over achievers I guess.
Anyway the onion rings were absolutely to die for!!! Don’t skip them if you have a choice❤️

Stopped by for breakfast while camping nearby and I'm so glad we did. The owners are so sweet and their grandaughter was such a hard worker lol the food was fantastic my family used to own a cafe similar in West TN and we spoke of the similarities and it felt so nostalgic for me we came back the next day for lunch. I will definitely be back any time Im in town for a waterfall hike. Also thank you again for the eggs! They were delicious and got used in the 2 days after u gave them to my boyfriend and I. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE APPLE BUTTER AND STRAWBERRY JAM. So good. Can't wait to come back.

Everything is delicious. I've eaten here for years. My favorite is the fish sandwich. The homemade remoulade sauce they put on the sandwich is so good!

Broccoli and onions on baked potato was my special order and it was delightful. I assume fresh salads are difficult to come by? All good. I appreciate chef creating a flavorful vegetable mix. Everything was hot and tasty. Lots of locals walking in. Definitely a popular and loved space.

Friends and I were staying at Greeter Falls Camp. We google searched breakfast locations and drove up 5 minutes from our site. Greeted so warmly by the cashier and cook. This food was THE BEST I’ve had. All freshly made mostly. We tried everything on the menu the days we came in. My friends and I nicknamed the cook we spoke to “momma” as she was so friendly and cooked that food from heart - (close to home … from the heart is what she said).
We also tried her brownies and cookies. Amazing! The food is priced surprisingly low for the quality and quantity you get. I can’t wait to come back here next year!! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely fantastic hole in the wall local restaurant that does breakfast right! Do not sleep on this place if traveling through Tennessee. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had.

The food here is wonderful and well worth stopping by to eat! The hamburger steak is one of the best things and the homemade sauce they have to go with it is good enough to drink haha!

My family and I were staying in Altamont for a few days. One day we wanted to go out for lunch. Thank the Lord we stopped at this place! The food was AMAZING! I recommend the Beersheba Burger! The waitress was the hardest working waitress I've ever seen. She was managing the 5 tables that were seated (each table had 4 or more people), cashing people out, and managing to go orders. Despite only 1 waitress the food came rather quickly and it was DELICIOUS! Just good old fashioned home cooking. If you are in this area this is a MUST to stop and eat!

Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu! My one son ordered a cheeseburger and it was huge!

This little local restaurant is exactly what we needed to warm and fill our bellies after camping at Savage. Ignore any negative reviews from posh people who don’t understand the culture that “Close to Home” serves. We got a down home and darn good southern breakfast with sweet hospitality on the side. We’ll be back…
