Such a wonderful restaurant. Small and quaint. Customer service was top tier and we were seated immediately. We went on a Sunday right after 1pm and it wasn't that crowded. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Great establishment. Food was great as usual, the server was the only one working on the floor. I need the owner to know that she did her job, but she kept putting her hand in her mouth and did not wash her hand, multiple times. This was Jan. 17, 2025.

Im not a picky person, but $240 for 6 people is kinda ridiculous for the food we got.
Eggs were overcooked, ok flavor. Spinach dip was flavorless, like Sysco probably dropped it off and they thawed it out.
Im the guy who gets a burger every where I go because a burger will tell you a lot about a place. Mine was a charcoal briquette, probably premade, frys where good.
Shrimp and grits, shrimp over cooked and dry. The fried grit patty was good though. The broccoli was good too. The big chop was a dried out piece of pork, Mac and cheese was a nope also. The chicken fingers were ok and the mashed potatoes were also ok. The smoked meatloaf had good flavor, but the price was kinda ridiculous for 2 little pieces of meat. The catfish was meh, you can absolutely go to JT's and get better catfish and more of it for $6 less. The best part of the place was the playlist of music. I don't know who hyped the reviews up, but this is not it.

I frequent TKT a lot. I’ve had countless items from their menu but this was my first and last time having brunch there. We got the beignets and upon eating it. The texture was extremely chewy and doughy. We alerted our server and were met with a condescending tone. We were asked if we’ve had a beignet before. Regardless I decided to cut into the beignet and revealed what caused the chewy texture. I rarely write reviews but this experience was one that left a bad taste in my mouth. I am all for supporting locally owned businesses but not when I was spoken to like that.

I eat here often. Once a week. The food is very good and the service is excellent! I do miss the potato wedges tho. I wish they would bring them back.

The chicken sliders were the best part of lunch and the twice baked potato bites were good. Gumbo was not good at all not real gumbo but more like a gravy so thick. Also beware french fries were salted so much we couldn’t eat them and I love salt on everything so that’s saying a lot!

I loved the building and decor. We ordered the Gumbo, TKT burger and the gumbo soup. The gumbo i was told is not traditiinal. I appriciated being told although i would have never known. I ordered it based on other reviews. I liked it a lot it was good with lots of flavor. No big pieced of anything though. So really far from any traditional gumbo. The crawfish lasagna was similar to a lobster lasagna with a lot of cheese. Burger was done right we like ours med rare. Happy they were able to make it as ordered. We ordered a bottle of wine, glasses had lipstick on them. My husband cleaned it off as he always does. Not the end of the world. The shoe string fries seemed double dipped and cold. This restraunt just needs some refining for their price range. The waitor should pour the wine for tasting and ensurs glasses are clean. I wished i could give 5 stars. They do have outdoor seating which i look forward to sitting when i try again. I have my eye on the porkchop.

Its hard to support a local place when they sneak in a 20%tip on a To-Go order. I did not see this on their website nor did the person tell me when I called in. Only when I questioned my total at the pay, then I was shown the receipt, I noticed it and asked her, and finally was told they do that. Then I receive a receipt with an additional tip line! The lack of honest transparency has me leave this negative review.

Pros: good food, friendly service. Con: I have to take the longer route home now so that my three year old won’t see TKT and beg to go.

The seating took a bit and they seemed busy which was ok. After taking our seat though it took well over 15 minutes to get our drinks and we were told “Sorry, we had a bit of a mess in the kitchen”. The lids were barely holding on, cups were half full, and the tea tasted sour like it had gone bad. We ordered the candied bacon deviled eggs and the jalapeño cornbread. When they arrived the eggs were clearly the bucket of preserved boiled eggs you can order from Sysco food distribution with a tougher egg white from sitting in preservative juice. We had to ask for napkins several times as we never received any or silverware to go with our appetizer, nor did we receive side plates. In addition to all of this our food took 50 minutes to arrive at the table and it tasted like it had been reheated/microwaved. Gumbo, mac and cheese, collard greens and the chicken tenders all tasted like they also came from Sysco and just heated up. I got the “Debris Sammich” which was supposed to have different types of meats and melted mozzarella with Au jus. The meat was extremely dry and of course just tasted reheated, and the Au jus tasted like water and was in a tiny ramekin that you most certainly could not dip a sandwich into in addition to not nearly enough of a portion for a sandwich. Our server was kind, just seemingly ill equipped to do his job. Overall, this dining experience was by far one of the most disappointing I have had in many years and we were really looking forward to this experience. My biggest suggestion to anyone looking, would be to seek elsewhere to spend your money, it is not worth it at all and will leave you feeling sick and sad.
