Trudie's Management, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a long-time and faithful patron of Trudie’s to express my disappointment with a recent experience that fell far below the standards we’ve come to expect from your establishment. On our most recent visit, we ordered a total of 11 pieces of fish. Unfortunately, the fish was noticeably off — it had an overwhelmingly “fishy” taste and odor that made it very unpleasant to eat. Given that this is not typical of our experiences at Trudie’s, we respectfully returned the first batch and asked for it to be remade. However, to our disappointment, the second batch was just as unpalatable. The lead server informed us that the fish had come from a recent truck delivery that arrived earlier that morning. While we understand this may point to a supplier issue rather than a fault of your kitchen, the result was still a poor dining experience for our group. We attempted to speak with the owner, but were told she had already left the premises. Despite the clear issue with the quality of the fish and the fact that we only ate three pieces out of the 11 we ordered (along with some sides), we were still charged for nearly everything. The owner, through staff, only offered to comp a two-piece meal — a gesture that did not reflect the extent of the issue or the good faith we’ve shown as loyal customers over the years. Regrettably, due to the handling of this situation and the lack of accountability shown, we have decided we will not be returning to Trudie’s. We did not seek a full refund, only fairness and recognition of the experience we had. We hope this feedback is taken seriously, as it comes from patrons who have supported your business consistently in the past. Sincerely, The Jamison Family
I drove over 40 minutes to be told that they close early. That’s absolutely the worst advertisement ever. The host said we close early. There were people waiting but it’s a three hour wait BS I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Fish was perfectly fried sides were delicious, The waitress was amazing, Definitely will be returning.
WIFE and I had a great experience and a very tasteful dinner that I had breakfast. I had “ the kitchen” which was outstanding with the fried potatoes and onions. My new go to ✊🏿 We met the owner, She came out introduced herself, told us about her restaurant, told us the story of her mom , which I found very fascinating. My wife had the catfish. It was all you can eat, and it was more than she could eat 🤣 I recommend this restaurant. It’s a little out the way, you really have to want to go there to find it but it’s worth it.
Went to trudies for the first time and it was delicious!!! We got the chicken and waffles along with a bacon burger and greens ! So good will 100% be back !
Pic below is what your plate is going to look like. I got the chicken and waffles. That waffle was so nicely layered from crunchy top and bottom layers to soft, fluffy interior. They added a little powdered sugar and cinnamon on top. Three nicely crunchy chicken tenders to go with it. Tenders had just a little seasoning as not to take away/over power the overall flavor. Perfection. My waitress and the owner were super sweet. It was very slow as I went around 10:30 on a weekday. They had smooth jazz going and sports on the TV. They have a beautiful, southern comfort atmosphere and apparently they have live music on the weekends. Yall gotta try this little gem in Brunswick. Great price too. Paid like $17 for everything before tip.

We were 1 of 2 couples in the entire place. The catfish was good but everything else was horrible. My wife nor I even ate our sides. Not only were they not fresh the taste wasn't that great and they were served room temperature at best. Not only were we 1 of 2 tables being served in the entire place it took a while for service of any kind.

We stopped in after church for the first time since it became Trudie’s. We had the catfish which was AMAZING! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The green beans, dressing and yams were perfect as well. Can’t wait to go back and try something else. I truly hope everyone supports this family owned business!!!

We went to Trudie's on a Friday night just before 8pm. They close at 9pm & we were hoping that we could get a seat without waiting since it was the weekend. Surprisingly, only one table in the entire restaurant was occupied by a couple. A sign of things to come.
The server greeted us at the door asking if we were ordering to go. In spite of her implication that she'd rather not serve us, we ate in.
We each went with the catfish plate. Plate 1: fried fish, cole slaw, fried okra. Plate 2: fried fish, macaroni & cheese, onion rings. The waitress returned to say they were out of cole slaw; I ordered collard greens instead. She returned to tell me they were out of okra; I ordered onion rings.
Let me go ahead and say right out of the gate, the catfish was 5 stars. We did have to ask for tartar sauce & were given a tiny plastic cup each. Not nearly enough. Again, the fried catfish was delicious!
The sides were awful. I don't mean they weren't good in comparison to the fish, I mean they were awful. The onion rings were horrid. They were battered in something like bread dough which was dark brown all the way through to the onion. The absolute worst I have ever had. We couldn't eat them.
The mac & cheese was old and dry. The collards were cold. They were also full of chopped stems, which I don't like. Our plates also came with hush puppies, which were doughy and disappointing.
If the restaurant survives, we'll try again earlier in the evening and when there are more people. Perhaps it was just a not-so-good night for them.

The food was good. Nicely seasoned. Came out in a timely manner, too. The chicken was so fresh tasting. My husband had the catfish, and it wasn't muddy at all. The tarter sauce wasn't good, but everyone makes it differently.
