It saddens me that a local venue refused to book our wedding next fall. Spout Spring Estates Winery and Vineyard is a lovely place and after visiting recently, my fiancé Rebecca and I were excited to plan a simple celebration of less than 25 people, no frills, no flowers, no fuss. We hoped to simply enjoy the view and wine on the pavilion at the estate and say a few loving words to one another in front of a small group of family and friends who love us.
To quote their website: “Over the years, our location has also become a local destination for couples who want a scenic wedding venue. And who could disagree? Surrounded by beautiful farmland and majestic Tennessee mountains, we know of no better place to live, work, grow, and celebrate.” …unless you are LGBT.
Beautiful property and great wine. Well worth the stop if you’re in the Eastern Tennessee area.
Always enjoy coming to the winery! The owners are very friendly and the views are very nice!
One of the most spectacular views I have seen. The better half is the wine drinker. She enjoyed what they have. I truly enjoyed the slushy. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Great place to enjoy a glass of wine with a beautiful view of the mountains
Love to visit. They have wonderful events for young and older?
Had a great first visit to the winery today. Can’t express how much we enjoyed our visit and tour.
Fantastic place, owners are great, wine is good and views are tremendous. Dogs are a bonus.
Fantastic folks, the friendliest winery in all of Tennessee

Beautiful setting, friendly people, delicious wine! I spent a lovely afternoon here with my mother, and we had a wonderful time enjoying the views, the wine, and snacks. The Cabernet is lighter than I'm used to, but it was delightful. The Kate is perfect if you prefer something a little sweet. I definitely recommend the white cheddar and the olives!
Went there with my family and friends, had a WONDERFUL time! Alice and Chuck are so very kind. Seriously the best Vineyard in East Tennessee.
Come for the wine, stay for the views. The product is incredible, the views are breathtaking. Susan is fantastic behind the bar, and has plenty of knowledge about the process and the area. Highly recommend swinging by and making an afternoon out of stopping by!
I give this place 1 star for the sheer beauty of the venue space. However, I would never recommend this place to anyone, ever. They do not respect their customers, people who have paid them to use the space. They treat you like they are doing you a favor when you are paying to be there. They do not have a contract but did not like music that was played at our wedding reception and turned it off. Rude. When you rent your space to someone and do not have rules around an event then you have no right to shut down someone's event. The property was was drunk and rudely ended our event before we were suppose to end it.I'm absolutely appalled that they ruined a special moment for my sister. A once in a life moment that was ruined by these people. They should not be in the event business. It's super clear they are not hospitable, do not value their customers and do not want to be in the event business.Do not use this place for an event you will regret it and no one deserves to have their special event ruined by property owners.
Let's start with the good - amazing views and good wine. Now, the reason for the 1-star review. I recently attended a private reception at this venue. Throughout the event, I noticed a man lingering around the outskirts, watching the scene. At a point, I grabbed a cup of tea which ended up having a bug in it. So, not wanting the drink or to pour liquid in the trash, I moved to an unoccupied edge of the porch and discretely poured the tea into some bushes. At which point, that man quickly walked up to me, interrupting a conversation I was having, to say "we have sinks for a reason so how about you not pour your drinks on my bushes".Not wanting to match that level of rudeness, I simply said "ok". This person, who I assume was either an owner or just entitled, felt the need to interrupt a private event and condescendingly address me as if I'm a child. I'm 34. I apologize for not realizing sugar water would jeopardize your bushes or that you felt the need to personally police a private, formal event. Maybe try talking "to" people and not "at" them. So, go for the views, stay for the wine but be warned... you'll be surveyed with suspicion and spoken to like a child if you have the audacity to water some bushes.
