Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Sunday, 3/30/25, around 4pm, I ordered the new "Shrimp and Grits Skillet,'' based on the photo in the menu. This dish includes shrimp, andouille sausage and a Creole red sauce poured over the dish and the grits. When it arrive, there was one small piece of andouilee sausage (size of a nickel), no red sauce and the grits were very watery. I told the server, and she said "I don't know..." and went and supposedly told the manager. I held that on epiece of sausage out so the manager could see what I was referring to. The server came back and told me that this dish was "prepackaged, so that is just how it is. I don't know..." There seemed to be no interest, whatsoever, from management. As you can see from the photos, the menu photo looks great. In my meal, you can see that there is no red sauce--and, take a look at that andouille sausage piece on the left side of the plate. If what they told me was true, that it is "prepackaged," then prepare to be disappointed when you order this menu item. No sausage and no red sauce. There was no flavor, either--perhaps due to the lack of red sauce. I visit this store very often, but not anymore. The thing is--if a manager would care enough just to acknowledge what happened, it would be so much more effective, and I would appreciate that. But, I paid $17 for about 6 shrimp, no flavor, no sausage, no red sauce and water sitting in my grits. So, CB sold me this mess, and they don't care. When you see the menu photo, there is quite a contrast.

The service today was exceptionally slow and management made no significant effort to address the concerns.

We signed on to the waitlist after church. When we arrived there were 6 people ahead of us. No problem. When we checked after 30 minutes they said it would be another 30 minutes for the kitchen to catch up. Why have the app available for waitlisted when you can’t accommodate your guests?? The restaurant was busy but not exceptionally so. Don’t know what’s happened to this once great experience… sad

This was the worst experience I have ever had with any restaurant. They got the order wrong and then the manager came out and the waitress said she would take it back and redo it then the manager came over and told us he could not then when we showed him where he was wrong he said we were right and still would not fix it. Worst experience ever. I hope you are able to get these people trained because they definitely do not know what they are doing

Always a good time at Cracker Barrel came here for a family dinner and it did not disappoint. All the food was good I think they need to work on though their mashed potatoes they're not so fluffy sometimes a little hard. The mac and cheese was great the burger was great the fried chicken and the chicken fried steak. All good although I do think they need to change their coffee provider because the coffee is not great.

We have been coming to this location for several years. Service was mid to say the least. We waited over an hour on our food after being sat. Zero communication that the kitchen was clearly backed up. Everyone on our side of the restaurant was asking where their food was and how much longer it was going to be. There was plastic in our eggs. Our waitress kept disappearing for long periods of time. Will be going to Waffle House from now on. Z

Dining chairs are very uncomfortable! I dread going to Cracker Barrel because of the chairs. Booths would be a nice comfortable option for folks like me who would prefer a softer seat. I would go to CB a lot more if they had comfortable seating.

We have been coming to Cracker Barrel restaurants for years & years & are disappointed in the direction they are going. On this visit we ordered & when the food arrived my husbands order had the wrong gravy. They left the sides to get him a new entree. By the time it came out the sides were cold. My side of steamed broccoli came in a plastic bag set inside the bowl!!! It appeared to be an cryovac bag & instead of emptying it into the bowl, they put the whole bag in the bowl. All the food was warm - not hot - even the cornbread! It was around 2:45 - 3:00 when we came in & thru we’re not crowded, so the cooks couldn’t have been overloaded. My suggestion you get away from the cocktails & focus on your core clientele that has kept your stores popular all these years. If I’m going to have a drink with my meal I’m going to a different type of restaurant or a bar - not a family style restaurant.
