Service: Group of 20 (10 adults/10 kids) We arrived when there were no customers, took a bit to bring out the drinks, there were only the hostess and 2 servers. We received appetizers but no plates or utensils only to be told they didnt have any small plates for appetizers. I ordered a mojito and it was not good, worst mojito I have ever had. Our server was kind and quickly replaced with a water pwr my request, two others ordered horchata and it was not good either, we also returned it. We didn't get any drink refills, server never came around to refill. Margaritas tasted like the frozen lemon flavor you pick up at the freezer aisle and added liquor...it did its job but wasn't great tasting.
Food: Food was mediocre, I ordered chicken flautas, chicken was tasty and flautas were delicious but it didn't come with rice or beans, only lettuce and tomato. I have been to many Mexican Restaurants and never have I been told a plate doesn't come with beans and rice...awkward. Molcajetes were good, enchiladas were okay but definitely saved by the flavorful chicken.
We are Houstonians so we might be used to better food better service but its no excuse, definitely room for much improvement.
Definitely disappointing from a Mexican perspective.

The food was really delicious but we paid $20 for chicken cheese and rice. While my coworker paid $11 for it and extra $3 to put the cheese “on the rice and not the chicken”. Our waitress told us “she ordered from lunch menu and you guys didn’t” while we all got chicken cheese and rice. There is a big fan running in the space and it’s very humid and hot in the restaurant. Unfortunately we constantly waited on our waitress to come and serve us. We always had to go chase them down on the other side of the restaurant to get service like refills of drinks and chips. The restaurant also charges for salsa which is very unusual for a Mexican place and they did not let us know that it would be an extra charge. So when our party ran out and asked for more, we found out on the bill that they charge for salsa.
The food was incredible but unfortunately that’s all the restaurant has going for it. I hope they can work on environment, customer service, and prices.

It took no time to get seated and waited on. I went for my lunch break. Asked for a frozen margarita and it wasn't frozen at all, it wasn't ready... took over 25 minutes to get some rice and chicken 🤦🏾♀️ which also messed my stomach up for the next two days!!' I will never go here again. Oh they didn't have air and service wasn't too good for the money I spent.

Walk in it is at least 80° in the restaurant and they seat yourself on front of giant floor fan. I just walked out couldn't take the heat while waiting to eat. You should cook the food not the patrons.

We had a large group that met there last night - parents and older kids - and we were a little high maintenance probably. However, the service by Jose was great who was anticipating our needs before we knew we had them. Food is good and was mostly served all together at the same time.
My only complaint was the restaurant is a little too warm for some in our party.

Took very long to get food, got most of the orders incorrect. Had to keep asking waiter to bring chips and salsa over and over and never got it. Took over 2 hours from arrival to be able to pay our bill. Bad experience, not coming back.

We enjoy Mexicali Grill! It’s the best kept secret in Brentwood! Excellent food, delicious margaritas (try the Martha skinny one), and great staff! Jose was terrific! Thanks for the perfect Friday night spot for our family!

I ordered a grilled chicken enchilada (2) with cheese sauce instead of chili con carne and she charged me for 3 separate entry items!! Total $24
Called the manager who said he would correct it, but he did not. Called back but had to leave a message, call has not been returned.
