Management,
I have purchased ham and turkey from this location throughout 30 years and have never encountered the rudeness I just experienced. I entered the store through the door marked Walk-ins—the other door was marked Reservations. I picked up a coconut cake and went to the counter to get a package of ham slices and a package of turkey slices. I was told by the young man at the register, when I said that I also want to purchase a package of ham slices and was getting ready to also say turkey slices, he didn’t let me finish and immediately rudely and curtly said “If you haven’t already prepaid, I can’t let you have any!” I saw that the freezer behind him was full of packaged meat slices and only one other customer was in the store. I replied that I have bought ham there for 30 years—and again in a rude tone with a frown, I might add, he said, “It happens every holiday.” I then walked out without purchasing anything.

Since when did Honey Baked Ham adopt this business model? Only when I have purchased a whole ham over the years have I reserved one. So are ALL the packages of sliced ham and turkey in the visible freezer reserved and already paid for? Why do you have a door marked Walk-ins if you will not sell to walk-ins? And prior to making a special trip, which is out of my way, to your store, I checked your website. It says absolutely nothing about reservations and prepaying as prerequisites for purchase at your store. You have lost my business as a former good and loyal customer. Perhaps you are under new ownership or management, but one should always be polite, with a smile, to loyal paying customers, unless you are trying to go out of business. As a senior citizen, retired public relations/marketing executive and former journalist, I cannot recommend your business to anyone after this experience. After leaving your store, I went to Publix and bought what I had intended to buy at your place of business. At Publix, they train all their employees well, making every shopping experience there a pleasant one.

This is easily the best ham/turkey place in town. The food is excellent quality for a fair price. And the staff is so friendly! Our cashier, Lindsey, deserves a raise!

👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Don't purchase anything there. Went there forced by a job holiday card. $100 reduced to what in other stores would be at most $25. Had to order on line -because you can't walk in- and at pick up time they did not have the food ready. Had to spend more money to get something else and customer service were rude and agressive. I don't know why in my job they keep offering their gift cards

We ordered a ham for Christmas. There were quality issues with the ham. It wasn't fresh, and seemed very dried out. It was not worth the hundred dollar cost for a ham.

Preordered a ham and was told they need to find the order… proceeded to say the ham was slightly larger than ordered and I would be upcharged the difference for their issue…? I paid for what I paid for DO NOT pass on your issue to the customer.

They charge you a $3.00 "convenience fee", when you order online. Only to get there, and they haven't even started making your sandwiches. Being on a short lunch break, this pisses me off to no end. Being completely INCONVENIENCED, while being charged a " convenience fee," is almost comical.

I was disappointed this year when reserving a small boneless ham. However, there were no long lines and the person behind the counter apologized profusely about having no boneless hams. I thought that was the reason we go online to reserve them. From year to year this place changes their rules and I think I’m doing what they request, but it never seems to work out. One year, you can ONLY preorder online (wouldn’t sell me anything and I missed out). Another year, schedule day and time to pick up ham. Come at that time only (omg what if I forget?). Another year, no you can’t see the ham. We don’t open the foil anymore- you get what we put on the counter. Now this year, it doesn’t matter if you preordered a ham, you have to PREPAY online to get what you want. That was the only way to get a boneless. I really just can’t keep up. If they didn’t have boneless for all of TN and KY like the cashier said, then corporate should have either logistically solved the problem for them, or sent out a mass email to inform customers in advance. As it turns out, they sold me a medium bone-in ham for almost twice as much as I wanted to pay, and the lady took off a few dollars to satisfy me. Was that a bate-and-switch? Ugh! They need to do better or I’ll have to start cooking my own again.

Bought a ham, three sides, and a pie for the holidays that were great with easy heating instructions. Line went very quickly (I pre-ordered), and everyone at the counter was super pleasant. There was also a woman greeting everyone as they were coming in! I enjoyed a great holiday atmosphere; will return for sure!
