We just happened upon this place through a quick Google exploration without any expectations. Located on a dark side street in Downtown Bristol, the Bistro is a warm and inviting small place with great service, excellent drink selections- especially bourbon and cider!- and a limited but well executed menu. We split the Tarragon sauced Filets accompanied by homestyle mash potatoes and French green beans flecked with pork belly?. All tremendous. Add the beet salad and caesar salad with an excellent chunky dressing and we enjoyed every bit of the experience. Hayley was a particularly delightful server with some very fashionable eyeglass bling. Walk to the nearby eccentric Sessions hotel and take in a movie at the drive in and that is a day and night well spent!

My family and I love everything about this place. The ambiance is cozy but trendy. Everyone who works there is a pleasure to be around. The food will change your life. It's a little pricey, but completely worth it. We gladly drive 40 minutes to eat here.

best food and drinks in downtown bristol!
Very disappointing experience. I went for lunch today and was extremely dissatisfied. My sandwich was overpriced and sloppily put together, and my server was very unprofessional. She was wearing sweatpants and a zip up sweatshirt. For a place with prices like this, they should at least have uniform requirements for their staff. Will not be going back. So overpriced and underwhelming.

This place has a very quaint appearance. The food was great. The staff are very friendly and super efficient. The pickle board appetizer was awesome. But wouldn't pair it with the shrimp and grits. The saltiness of the pickles are a bit much when combined with the salty Creole. AGAIN. Both are great. Just not together.
Only negative was the bourbon prices. We do look forward to a return visit. Samarah, one of our servers, was awesome.

We had dinner before a show at The Paramount. I had the champagne pork (delish) and my husband had the steak. Both excellent! Husband can’t quit talking about how the steak is the best he’s ever had. It was charred on the outside and perfectly medium rare on the inside. Great service too.
Bistro on 6th is a locally owned, hidden gem tucked away on 6th St. The owners are great people. While I've never personally had a bad meal there, I absolutely believe they would make things right if you did. Check them out for lunch or dinner. Personal favorites include the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, the Caesar salad add salmon, and the chicken marsala, and the crispy Brussels sprouts are legendary, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I recommend calling ahead for seating if you have a party of 6 or more as they do have limited space. It's so nice to have a go-to spot when you want consistently delicious food. Thanks, Bistro on 6th.
Great place, historic, quaint, outdoor seating and unique gourmet menu!

We got in an hour before they closed. Not only did they get our order in quick (and it was AMAZING), Alyssa recommended the whiskey (Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Finish) for the meal and WHOA. Please come here of you can.

They were slammed during BR&R and still had the best customer service and food.

My wife and I were walking around Bristol during our mountain tour and luckily found this place just passing by. It’s tucked into a little side street with cool views of the old buildings. Excellent. They were able to accommodate my celiac wife with the roasted beets (there were several other options). Upscale presentation and quality for a pretty reasonable price. Food is fresh. Pleasant service willing and able to answer questions precisely and kindly. Only wish we had this place back home. Highly recommended!
Wonderful little restaurant in downtown Bristol, nice employees, very good food. My wife is celiac and had the roasted beets and enjoyed them. I had Philly cheesteak. Excellent and unique as it’s served on Cuban bread.
A worthwhile stop in a historic part of town.
We brought our dog and dined on sidewalk outside. Was fine.

Wow! What a find on our trip. The food was fresh and the flavors had so much depth. The prices were great and our waitress, Sophie, was the sweetest. Can't wait to return!
