I ate dinner nearby but I was really wanting a little something sweet to top off the night.
I stopped by La Carreta and found out they had both flan and churros. So I ordered them both to go. I can only give the food 5/10. The flan had a wonderfully rich caramel flavor and was very creamy. However, it seemed to have a very thick, almost tough, skin on the bottom. And I was not impressed in the least with the churros. Temperature wise they were warm at best after only walking 150 feet to the truck. The inside texture was grainy and gritty and it reminded me of a cheap store-bought item that had been pulled from the freezer and warmed slightly in the oven.
Now, I will admit that I am a churros snob. When you’ve had churros that you watched Abuela drop into the grease and then pull them out and cover them in cinnamon sugar so fast that a portion of the sugar almost caramelizes, it’s hard to accept anything less.
The bathroom was very clean, well stocked and decorated nicely. The staff was polite and helpful.
I think I’m going to go back and order a full meal instead of just dessert to go. I think I may skip dessert next time.

The Chile Renos looked and tasted like canned dog food. There was hardly any pepper in the dish, mostly cheese. The Anaheim pepper was a strip of pepper cooked, not a whole pepper. Not much Mexican options on the menu, mostly Americanized dishes.

We moved to the Bristol area about 3 years ago and have been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant. Although they advertise themselves as such, it didn’t fit the bill for me.
The food (though plentiful and served piping hot) lacked any of the delicious taste I expected. I had the fajita burrito which was recommended by the server after I described what I was looking for.
The presentation was beautiful. The burrito was huge and filled to the brim, but sadly it was bland and the meat was tough as a glove. I didn’t taste a hint of any seasoning.
They could have knocked this out of the park, but totally missed it.
Won’t give it another try. Too disappointed.

This was the most disappointing mexican food I've had. My husband ordered a plate with a burrito and enchilada, but both were enchiladas. My plate was a beef enchilada and chicken enchilada, very disappointing. The salsa and cheese dip for chips were tasteless and very watered down. Staff were friendly and service was good, food was not worth stopping for.
