We were there last week with a group and loved the place! We tried Rum, Whiskey and their canned cocktails. My husband bought whiskey and a number of us bought the canned cocktails. I should have bought more but we were on motorcycles. Gonna order on line, I love them!
Speed by again this past Saturday. The liquors they make are excellent. The canned mix drinks are a must buy. The new one out is sweet tea, lemon and vodka. Excellent mixture with 7ish abv. Very nice folks. Will always stop by.
Quaint little place. I liked everything I tried. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is the mess up. They were having issues with their internet and they mixed up one of the bottles I wanted with one of their basic. Of course I didn't catch it because if I said I wanted a certain bottle and they say it back, I trust they give me the bottle I wanted. It was supposed to be Dad's 65th birthday present. By the time we got home and realized they mixed up the bottles, they were closed and my flight left before they opened. They can't fix this because they can't ship and I won't risk a friend mailing it through FedEx. Don't know if I'll ever be back in that area of Tennessee again 😞 good tastings but that mix up just brought me down.
Great tour. Owner/operator was very knowledgeable and cordial. Generous tasting experience.
This review encompasses 2 visits to Lost State! My first Experience with Lost State was when my wife and I decided to visit Bristol TN/VA for our 1yr anniversary back in October of 2023. I wasn't really that big into whiskey but I enjoyed it from time to time. The distillery sits on the Tennessee side of Bristol just behind the Bristol sign. When we stopped in we were met with a wonderful aroma of apples as they were actively distilling their Apple Brandy. It was an aroma that has stayed with us since that visit. The owner, Nick, was behind the tasting counter and offered to walk us through a tasting and a tour which we were excited to experience since this would be our first distillery tasting. The experience was beyond amazing and the spirits were definitely unique in a positive, delicious, tasteful way, so much so that I walked out with 6 bottles of their spirits as well as some of their canned cocktails they had at the time! Before we left they mentioned the Tennessee Whiskey Trail to us. Because of Lost State we were excited to begin the adventure of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail in an attempt to visit all of the listed distilleries and collect all of the poker chips!! Fast forward about a year and my brother-in-law is passing through Bristol and brings me back more of their canned cocktails as well as a bottle of the Apple Brandy and their 1784 Bottled in Bond which were not available when we visited the first time. Fast forward again a total of almost 18 months since our first visit and we returned to Lost State. This time we were driving back from visiting a chunk of the Whiskey Trail that, thanks to Lost State, is now almost complete. This time we were met by the owners wife, Josie, who was unbelievably friendly and kind to us! She walked us through a tasting as well of which were their new rye whiskey, and gold rum. Nick came out during our tasting and started telling us about some new things that he is working on! It all seemed really interesting and I can't wait for more to come! We spent at least 2hrs talking to the both of them and really just having a good time at the distillery! We did learn that they are officially no longer a part of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail during that visit which is a shame since they were the ones that got my wife and I started on such an amazing adventure. They are also the reason we continually return to Tennessee and support all of the other distilleries! All in all, though this review was longer than most, I don't think I could have done Lost State Distilling justice if I didn't write a novel! If you are looking to start down the path towards a whiskey hobby or just want to explore craft distilleries I would 1,000% recommend a visit to Lost State Distilling. There isn't a spirit they've distilled that I wouldn't buy and their hospitality is unmatched! I look forward to when I can return to Bristol and give Lost State another visit!
Just after completing much of the
KY Bourbon Trail, we were anxious to get to Bristol to kick off our Tennessee/Virginia Trail adventures. Head Distiller &
President, Nick Bianchi, welcomed us at the door of a century old building sitting just below the famed State Street sign and across from the Bristol Trainstation. Nick quickly proceeded to present their impressive line-up of Tennessee Whisky - including a Bottled In Bond as well as a Cask Strength Straight Bourbon. To say we were wowed is an understatement! We continued to taste other options and then Nick walked us through their facility. If you want to sample exceptional craft bourbon - all distilled, aged, and bottled in Bristol, you're in for a treat. Highly recommend!
Local, small owner craft distillery. They make bourbon, brandy and vodka. Tasting and tour were fun! Check them out!
Stopped by the distillery for a quick tasting and walked out with three bottles. Service was friendly. We did not know if tours were available —we should have asked! Be sure to stop by if you are in the Bristol area.
Had a wonderful tasting while learning about the history and operations of Lost State Distilling. Left with several bottles. They have something for everyone.
A great new addition to Bristol, TN. A destination similar to those of bigger cities with a fantastic housing of spirit tasting, upcoming events with bands, and a great atmosphere. Local flavors and big things to happen with this local pub and future destination for visitors. Highly recommend. Go check it out! Great tasting session at the bar! Try it out.
