I think this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. I will definitely make the drive from Patis to Carmelitas when I want Mexican food from now on.

I’ll start by saying the food is awesome! Which is the only reason we gave it a second chance. The service is painfully awful. Both times we have been there we have had to ask for drink refills and chip refills multiple times before we ever get one. The first visit, they were pretty busy so we just chalked it up to being short staffed. Gave it another try last night and service was worse than before and they were not busy. Had to ASK for chips AFTER we got our cheese dip. Chips are served with a huge bowl of salsa and about 12 chips. Had to wait forever for the server to come back by so you can ask for more chips, and a box, and a bill. Lots of standing around and very little service unless you ask for it.

Visiting KY lake and decided to eat lunch here. They had several employees working, no wait to be seated and food was quickly served. Waitresses asked several times if I needed help. It’s nice to eat somewhere where they’re happy you decided to eat there.

Enclidas were barely warm and my beans and rice were cold not warm at all, margarita was weak weak but decent flavor, food had a decent flavor, steak burrito was okay, but also wasn’t very warm.

Went here on a Friday evening. Service was extremely weird. The host mumbled for us to sit wherever we want. The waitress came to our table barely speaking. She didn't come back to check on us . Had to go to the bar to get more drinks. Food was awesome. Felt like we were overcharged but just wanted to get out of there so we did not question the bill. We may get carryout in the future but won't dine in again.
I've eaten at every one of the Mexican Restaurants in this area, from Dover to Paris, and this one, by far, is the best. Excellent food and portions for the price. They use jumbo shrimp instead of medium or small shrimp. The large portion of rice and the flavors are awesome. The hosts are friendly and prompt without hovering, always watching to make sure you have what you need. I highly recommend this place!!!
Parking: Parking in front of the building is somewhat limited but easy to access.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp in front for all access.

The place has a hole in the wall vibe. Friendly service with a small bar area on the side. Chips and salsa: excellent (salsa was a bit on the spicy side, but I loved it) Cheese dip: excellent Margs: excellent Went with 3 adults and 2 kids, and everyone loved the meals they ordered.
