As someone born and raised in Carthage, this has always been my go-to and favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is consistently delicious, and a few of my must-haves are the Mino Special, Steak Fajita Nachos, Guacamole Mexicana, and the enchiladas — all so good!
The service is always friendly, fast, and welcoming, whether you’re dining in or picking up a to-go order. It’s one of those places that feels like home. Highly recommend if you're ever in town and craving great Mexican food!

El Rey Azteca is a true gem. This place is so good. I don’t think the people around here know what they ate being treated with. Never would I have thought to find a place this good in such a small town in Tennessee.

Ive been coming here since i was little. These guys never disappoint! Always big portions, good prices, and delicious food! Ive been coming here 3 times a week with my husband and kids for good reason, we love it!
Kid-friendliness: My kids are a handful and sometimes its to keep them quiet, but weve never been treated badly because of them.
Food was good. Rice was a little bland but we admittedly came in kind of late. Definitely plan to give it another chance because I normally hear rave reviews about the rice.
