The Restaurant at Henry Horton

Amazing! I had the crispy chicken sandwich, thick and juicy really delicious. Side was a mac and cheese, assuming gouda was the cheese so really really good. I had the Ranger jack drink from the bar, tasted like apple pie so so so good! Our waitress was amazing and happen to be our bartender as well! I will say the catfish dinner was lacking as far as size but still delicious! If you get the chicken tenders get prepared to take some home, they were more like 3 large chicken breast. This gem is located in the heart of small town chapel hill TN and when everyone finds them this place they will be busy!

Wheelchair accessibility: Like going to the restaurant there was a long walk if you needed a wheelchair from the visitor center.
The parking to both the visitors center and the restaurant is not easily accessible to either. The green space from the parking lot needs to shrink to allow for closer parking. It was a long cold walk for the senior members of our group.

Whomever they have recently hired for the chef here, they’d better keep them. The food was phenomenal. Atmosphere is very comfy, modern, laid back. Pricing was a little high but oh so worth it. Venture out to this hidden gem. Beautiful scenery all around the restaurant.

Food was ok for a state park. I had the salmon and it was overcooked and covered in a bbq sauce. I ordered a baked potato and they came back and said they only had a loaded one. Weird. I would not order the salmon again. Everyone else enjoyed their food. They do not really offer any healthy options. The service is very slow so don’t go in a rush. It is a beautiful place and definitely would go and hike before or after your meal.

The food was delicious! I sat at their beautiful bar and had a relaxing dinner with a Tennessee Brew Works Urban Hiker (lager). What made the experience perfect was the bartender; she was so kind and helpful. She deserves a raise!

What a great restaurant to have lunch on a Saturday afternoon. My salmon blt sandwich was delicious and the cold slaw was fantastic. Such a beautiful place with a great gift shop.

The family took a day vacation to Henry Horton Lodge and chose to eat on its outside deck since the dog was with us. Only two servers so it was slow of service but they were courteous and helpful. All the food was delicious and we really enjoyed our evening.
There was a nearby playground for the littler kids and a beautiful view.

So this place has a new menu. You have got to try it out. I went yesterday and today. Yesterday, I got the appetizer Southwest eggrolls with jalapeño ranch. Soooooo good.
Today, I took my husband there for lunch. We got the loaded sweet potato fries as an appetizer they had candid bacon and maple aoli sauce. Omgosh, to die for so good.
My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich. It was huge. It had crispy bacon pickles and aoli sauce and mac and cheese as a side. I had the smash burgers with cheddar cheese let. and tomato with fries as my side. It's so good and juicy.
I definitely recommend giving this place a try. I have not tried the bar yet, but we will be going back.
